Wow. I didn't expect the Eagles to phone it in this bad. Outscored 12-3 in two games. I really thought it was going to go down like this: Split the games in Moncton, split the games in CB, Moncton win the last 2. After those first two games in Moncton, I'm feeling a sweep. Maybe I'm jumping the gun, maybe not. It just really seems like Moncton came to play.

Your guys look out of shape to me ... they play a physical style for the 1st period and then give far less effort the rest of the way ... because they look gassed. Adam and Legace look fat and have poor foot speed for veteran/star players. Its the playoffs ... against a tough opponent ... why wouldn't we come to play ?

Someone in the organization has been quoted several times as saying CB fans are a "sophisticated" brand of fan. Soooo ... a guy from Cape Breton ... was calling some other Cape Bretoners "sophisticated" ? Are you paraphrasing ... and maybe he said ... "them Capers is suffis.... sufish ... ummm ... safisto .. hmmmmm ... them capers there at the rink ... they nose stuff". That's better Cape Breton-ese than I can come up with..... you sure you're not from here?! ;D

I don't think it's that they haven't tried, they have spent a lot of energy trying to hit everything that moves but at the end of the day goals count and hits don't on the scoreboard.

At least with pascal they were always in shape. They went to kickboxing, skated 2 hour tough practices, hit the gym more. You see this coach is a nice players coach, would make a better assistant coach. All indications are he is no tough coach, two awards for mvp, two awards for rookie of the year and two captains. He is just a nice guy. NICE GUYS FINISH LAST!!!!

Not being a great hockey expert and not having too many suggestions to pass on except what his team needs is a complete overhaul. I can honestly say this is one year where my anticipation of the games is lost. The players that were brought in to bolster this team are not produceing. Coaching does seem to be a problem and that should be fixed. As long as we keep buying tickets to line the owners pockets they ARE NOT going to change things. Hit them where it hurts in the pocket then there will be changes. I really think our players are capable, all they need is direction. Come on BOG shell out some dollars and bring in a Ted Nolan type coach and things will come together. I'm wating for the end of this mess to see what's going to happen before I renew my season tickets. I don't know about you, but I can find lots of use for that money other than spending it watching players going game and game out giving lacklustre performance

I talked to 3 different people who traveled up to Moncton for the 2 games and they all said that Olivier Roy played fantastic in both games and that he was the victim of a lucky deflection, some really strange bounces off the glass and very poor support from his D at times. They basically said that you couldn't ask a goalie to play any better.
On the goal in game 2 that Kenny was critical of him for, a shot off the glass took a crazy bounce and came out on a weird angle to an open Moncton player. It wasn't a matter of Olivier not controlling a rebound or not stopping a shot that he should stop 10 out of 10 times at all!
When our D gets overplayed they are going to get tired and start making both mental and physical mistakes AND THEY ARE GETTING OVERPLAYED.

I've seen Roy come into Moncton and frustrate the players with his strong play. He isn't playing terribly ... but he isn't anywhere close to his normal strong play. He has had a few bad goals on him ... several he had no chance on ... but he isn't making the big saves his team needs him to make. He isn't playing "great" ... but you can't hang the two losses on him either.

SteveUL, obviously we've got a difference of opinion between 3 Eagle fans that saw the 2 games and yourself so I'm hoping some other posters that saw the 2 games might give their opinion about Roy's play.

If I had to describe Roy's play, I would call it average ... he wasn't bad, and was by no means the reason you lost ... but he didn't stand on his head and make it closer than it should have been either.

I'd have to agree for the most part with Steve on this one. I've seen Roy come in and stone teams and win the game for his team.. He's been solid but not lights out.. I find he's making alot of good first saves but kicking out a ton of big rebounds.
The goal Kenny would have been so critical about was a weird one.. Not one that would be saved 10/10 though.. the puck was shot high, came right out in front and Cameron kind of golf-swung it in.. caught Roy by surprise more than anything.
He's been solid, but he's going to have to be better if CB is to get back into the series.

Your d is getting manhandled and he isn't making any big saves to keep you in the games.
