Too bad he signed there. The Moose could have or maybe I should say should have traded him for a pick or two !

If he signed to play pro than i think there was pretty much a 0 % chance Halifax could have gotten anything for him.
Knotek is happy, he has moved on and will play pro in a pretty good league...
Im sure Halifax has mixed feelings...but it clears up the euro situation...

That is what I meant, by signing a pro contract Hfx. loses the chance to trade him and get something for him.

Definitely mixed feelings on this one. On one hand happy for Tomas. He served this team well in his time here, and I wish him all the best. But selfishly it sucks now that we can't trade him lol. Was looking forward to adding another pick (prob top 3 rd pick). Oh well, nothing you can do about. Makes the overage picture a little more clear.
I think it was unfortunate for Knotek, in that I don't think we saw Knotek at his best. In his first year we were a powerhouse, and despite getting quality ice and playeing with good players, he was still a rookie, playing and living his first year in NA. A challenging year for them in many ways. Then the next 2 seasons, when you'd think a player like him would light it up, we sucked and he had little to nobody to play with. He was on his own many nights. I think he could have put up some great numbers if we had, even average teams, the last 2 years. That was unforunate.

Thank you Thomas, it was a privledge to watch you play and grow as a player. I am not suprised that he has gone PRO, he needs to challenge himself at the next level. Hope to see him in the NHL one day or at least playing for his Country at the Worlds.
I am happy for him and wish him the best of luck.

All the best in Finland Thomas and thank you for 3 years of great service in Moose Country I'm not going to lie you will be missed; so guys who do you think is our potential captain this season? I'm thinking maybe Grant or Desi would make a great Captain!

Congratulations to Tomas for sure! He served well for the Moose, I sort of feel bad we basically forced out to make a decision other than returning here for another season but it's business and in our best interests.

Randall, followed closely by Amyot.

According to John Moore's Twitter.
"Russell wishes Knotek well even though his captain is a lost asset. Gatineau was interested in acquiring the Czech as an overager."
