One of 38 players invited to the selection camp for the Canadian U-18 team for the summer Ivan Hlinka tournament.
Another item in today's Between The Lines (weekly feature on Saturdays in the CB Post) that deserves mention on this board = a congratulations to local referee/linesman Peter Sheppard of Howie Centre. He was named the 2010 Official of the Year by Hockey Nova Scotia (I think I have those details correct).
Sheppard lines a large # of the Eagles home games and does a fine job - congrats!

Wouldn't it be great if Woodworth got the ice time he needs to develop and became another draft worthy defenceman for next year's draft?

add a solid euro defense man to Woodworth and Ellis and that gives the Screaming Eagles a good start to the D-core. Rarely do teams have a solid 6. Ice time and opportunity to Woodworth could help him develop big time!

Strange... he played Brodeur, Meilleur, Piscacek to exhaustion the end of last year... and let a kid with this potential ride the bench...

Strange... he played Brodeur, Meilleur, Piscacek to exhaustion the end of last year... and let a kid with this potential ride the bench... In fairness, he was 16. With the youth of our defence next year, I see no reason Woodworth won't play Top Four minutes.
