thechronicleherald.ca/Sports/1188478.htmlIt would be something if he was picked. Here is a kid who was not picked till the sixth round, was not expected to even make the worst team in the league last year. He came in worked hard, did not make waves and quietly became one of our steadiest defenders. Hope to hear his name called Friday.

If he is picked chances are it won't be until Saturday, only round 1 is Friday night but that wouldn't that be a shocker if he was called Friday night ;D If he can improve his skating he'll be a force in the Q over the next 2-3 years.

I'll bet he doesn't get picked this year ... but I think he will next year after a pretty good season showing off his skills and toughness.

Its funny for a player that was drafted somewhat low, and became a pretty solid defencemen, I am surrised he has not been shopped anround or discussed being traded by the Moose. You would get alot more for him than you paid in the draft. Personally I would'nt do it I like him , but I also like T. Kaberle of the Leafs...and well you know that story.

Because, he is 18...so why trade him? You could get more for Gelinas than the pick you drafted him with but why make the trade? You can pretty much say that about any player on the roster...players who are 18 and in the league are generally worth more than a pick in the round they were drafted in.

I think this is true for players drafted in the lower rounds, but not the higher ones. Would you pay more than a 1st for Critchlow or Arseneau? IMO, any player who was drafted in the 6th rd or later, and makes their team at 17 immediately jumps to top 5 rd pick in value, assuming the player makes a contribution and isn't just a bench warmer/press box player.

Thats why I said generally Critchlow and Arseneau had no business being 1st rounders anyway...to most rational individuals.

There is about 11 teams interested in drafting Hannay and while it was earlier believed he would go in the late round ( 7th Rd ) there is a feeling that he could go as early as in the 4th round.

Yeah three Moose is great... the Moose and I think Gatinteau with 3 to lead the way. Hope this is a trend over the next few years. Also, with a goalie and two D picked it means keeping the team will have some solid improvements in keeping the puck out of the net this year.

Good for Sawyer. He worked his butt of this year, and it has paid off for him.
I had check nhl.com and they were half way thru the last round and Hannay hadn't been picked. I was hoping he'd get snagged up, but it wasn't looking good. About 30mins later I went back and saw his name. Who would have thought watching him in training camp that we'd be sitting here in the summer talking about him being an NHL drafter player. Good story.
