I'm also glad that John Hanna will still be actively involved but I want to ask who was in charge of fitness and conditioning in years past when the Eagles were one of the hardest working teams in the Q?
I honestly believe that this was a matter of attitude and leadership more than one of who was in charge, however. This might be an deliberate attempt to get the players to take their training more seriously than they apparently did last year and if so it's a very good idea.

Ya it's great that they'll have someone that'll just fall into the area of fitness but I mean even if they weren't made by Durocher and staff last year to keep fit and take training seriously you'd think the players would have the brains to realize that they have to hit the gym hard and stay fit anyway if their going to play this sport pro.

And this was something that was never an issue under Vincent and the on ice leadership he had. I don't think Cully, Slaney, or Ouellet ever had to be coached to stay in shape....but Adam could of used some conditioning vs Moncton last year when he didn't show up till the series was over.

EXACTLY!! The likes of Cullgian , Slaney and Ouellet were great leaders and we defiently saw the on ice difference this year when the leadership went sour. I guess Adam thought he was just too good and stong for his cardio

I've heard rumors that the Main Event Beverage Bar provided a lot of that liquid diet over the course of the year to Eagle players.

Great news that John Hanna will still be around the team. His official role might be fitness and conditioning coach, but I'm sure he'll be able to help out in many of the same ways he did as an assistant, when he's able to get to the rink. Hanna is a coach on the rise and it's good our young team will have his influence once again.
