I would say that could be the reason why he is still here; after Konrad and Sawyer get back then Simon can be sent back to midget which leaves Lewis and Bishop to fight for the #6 spot and we still have Desmond and Kavanaugh here as affiliates if needed for injury replacements during homestands and we still have Simon up there in Quebec if need be. Simon is better than both Lewis and Bishop. Lewis and Bishop are more likely to be fighting for the 7th spot. I agree with Bishop but I still think Lewis is better right now...he just hasnt had the best of camps. That being said...doubtful Halifax sends Bishop down....even though getting Desmarais icetime right now would probably be best for the future.

If Halifax truly sees another Ben MacAskill in Bishop, they are best off cutting bait now than wasting ice time on him and stalling progresss of a more skilled player. Thats one of the things I've disliked about this organization over the years- their refusal to admit they made a mistake on a pick. Most teams realize very early that a guy isn't going to fit in their plans, and they trade him while the value is still somewhat reasonable. Look at Shawinigan with Cole Hawes. Bathurst does it all the time with young guys (some come back to haunt them). Once the player is 19 and is projected to be 3rd pairing, it's too late. However, I'm not saying to give up on Bishop, because I haven't seen him play since last year. I'm only going by what others are saying.
