Here are the final preseason stats for our goalies. Name | GS | W-L | MIN | SA | GAA | SV% | Delmas, Peter | 3 | 1-1 | 122 | 58 | 1.48 | 0.948 | Terenzio, Anthony | 4 | 1-1 | 67 | 26 | 4.47 | 0.807 | Chisholm, Randy | 1 | 0-1 | 29 | 9 | 8.14 | 0.556 | Corbeil, Mathieu | 3 | 0-1 | 72 | 31 | 9.16 | 0.645 |
Of note, in a little over a game Corbeil has allowed 11 goals. I am fan of Corbeil's but in my mind trading Delmas at this point is too much of a risk. I am not sure what should be done but trying to rotate 3 goalies till Christmas may be what we have to do. I am sure it is a bit of a concern to Cam and Bobby as this team has to win some games to get the fans trickling back to the Metro Centre. A .645 save percentage does not cut it.

Halifax's hands are tied. Corbeil cant be traded until Mid December...they cant move him, therefore he is on the team.
If Halifax keeps Delmas, not only do they need to cut Bety or Grant but they would have Terenzio sitting out for 4 months...
In other words...its not happening.
Its a small sample size...allowing 6 on 10 shots will warp anyones stats who has only played 72 minutes. Im not a big Corbeil supporter but its a small sample size...the guy will be ok.

The Q site seems a bit messed up with the Moose goalie stats... I think Terenzio has probably played close to two games worth of hockey and his save% would be in the high .800s.
I agree with the Corbeil/Delmas point... I imagine there are some concerns there but at the same point I think if a good offer comes, especially from outside of the division, then they would trade Delmas tomorrow.
I was wondering if the game against PEI was party them testing the forward lineup without Bety (may also be the reason they are trying Grant, Randell and Gelinas at centre)... maybe the doors are not completely shut on Delmas. Though at the same time I didn't see Delmas hanging out with the other guys that were not dressed for the PEI game. Bety could be captain and would be a tough guy to lose but the team, for this year, I think would perform better with Delmas.

Not to mention, if Halifax was to all of a sudden keep Delmas, and show no faith in Corbeil to be the #1, what would that do to his trade value? He'd be worth a 4th at best.

I think Delmas, at this point is the best goalie of the three, maybe by a lot. I believe it was Pavlov who said in his mind Delmas may be one of the top goalies in the league this year. Not a bad thing to have going for a young team. Nothing deflates any team, espesially a young team, more then controling play and then having your goalie give up a weak goal. I agree LaLa I think Corbeil will be OK but he has looked shaky so far. Maybe the threat of Terenzio outplaying him may wake him up. Maybe NHL rookie camp will help.
But I am sure his play so far is a bit of a cause for concern. If we can only get a 3rd or a 4th for Delmas, escpecially if it is from Saint John or Moncton I am not sure if I would trade him. Sit Betty or Amyot the games he starts and reevaluate at Christmas.

Delmas is the best golaie of the three...he always has been and likely always will be (I dont have faith in Terenzio as a long term option). That being said, Halifax's hands are tired. The only way they keep Delmas is if they go with 3 goalies and cut Bety...which is not going to happen. Corbeil has played 72 minutes...he is wildly inconsistent and is likely looking forward to NHL camp...lets not jump the gun.

I was wondering - what are the rules surrounding 20 year olds? I know only 3 can be in the line-up on a given night, but can you have more than 3 on the roster, and sit one (or more) for every game? If the latter is the case, at this point I think the Moose are better off keeping the 3 goalies for now and sitting Amyot or Grant (maybe they will start to play better - Bety doesn't deserve to sit at this point IMO) when Delmas starts ... and he should get the start most nights to begin the season! Corbeil is most definitely "wildly inconsistent", and aside from a few good weeks last seaon, he has been mostly wildly bad! For the sake of the team and Moose fans hopefully something will click with him at NHL camp to make him a much more consistent and dependable goalie (don't see it happening - but fingers crossed).

Or maybe Terenzio plays well while Delmas and Corbeil are at camp and wins the starting job from Corbeil ....

Lala - If they keep Delmas you keep talking about Bety being cut, but why would it be Bety?
Amyot surely is the guy you'd worry about (And I'd cut him in a heartbeat for Delmas).
Bety brings everything Russell did as a player so wouldn't be want more of someone like that than Amyot? A big guy eho doesnt use his size, doesnt show any leadership?

Heard that a deal for Delmas to Riki is done provided he doesn't stick in the pros with Montreal? Makes sense, as he had success under Jodoin in Lewiston. Draft pick comning back to Halifax.....
What's the Habs depth chart in nets? Price, Auld, Sanford are 3 locks.... but who figures to be the #2 in the AHL, or #1 in the ECHL?

Is Cedric Desjardins still in the organization?
Any word on the pick coming back?...3rd, 4th?
