hal, I can't argue with you on your points but many of us said this 8 and 9 months ago. The writing was on the wall back then! You are right though that many fans will be very disappointed and frustrated if the team is like you said 15 games under 500 and in last place, especially the ones who believed what was being said about everything being in place for 2012.
I've said all along that 500 hockey seemed a reach and it will be an accomplishment to make the playoffs. BUT IT IS NOT THE YOUNG PLAYERS FAULT.

And for a fight between two guys who normally don't drop em, Champagne vs MacDougall wasn't too shabby. Once again I really take my hat off to Champagne for jumping to Marchessault's defence like that, despite kind of being Patrick Roy's hired sniper this year. A lot of guys in his position wouldn't have wanted to get their noses dirty. Champagne will stand up for the younger guys sometimes.....he went after Hoffman last year after he pushed Oligny face first into the boards.....the same incident where Thomas got suspended for being an agressor against Hobbs.

Do we have a first round pick in the next draft or did Mario sell that off also. I still cannot believe he never got fired. I would think we are 4 years away from .500 hockey

Management from Mario up is to blame , Including Mr MacDonald and the Board. Just watch their creative list of excuses they will try to snow the Hockey Fans with...............we need patience.............they are young and we think they need more time then we first anticipated...........the pressure of the Memorial Cup next year is affecting some of our kids.............our veterans are not showing the way ..................."BUT" " what you won,t hear" is I really blew it last year !

Another thing to consider is that right now is probably as good as this team is going to get because like most rebuilding teams we should be looking at moving vets for younger assets. Will they still be preaching then about how they lost nothing by going for it last year? Only in Cape Breton does management call losing Chouinard, Meilleur, Roy, and 3 1st round picks for a failed run as nothing.

Also there are regular fans who don't have a clue about why / how we lost Draft Picks , they only factor in the faces that are gone . They are pissed at this clown and don't even know the whole story ! When people need explanations about where and why Olivier Roy is gone .......into the Season then you know down the road they are gonna be really shaking their heads when we have no high picks to build on . When the Losses start piling up , watch what happens ! It,s gonna be Ugly !

I don't want to make you feel worse but I don't think Durocher traded for the best players he could get for a cup run.
I know Maxime Legault's family and he didn't really want to go to Cape Breton. He went anyway but his heart wasn't into it. It's not about the team, he just didn't want to leave Shawinigan. And he was still thinking about his missed opportunity of making the AHL. His head wasn't in the QMJHL last year.
Jacob Lagacé is a good player but he has always been selfish. His attitude is the main reason why he was drafted so far in his Q draft. He's not a veteran you want to build a cup contender around.
Moncton acquired the three best forward choices of the trade period.
Trading Luke Adam would have been the best decision but I guess you all know this. Cape Breton would have had a good chance of having the Memorial Cup in 2012 but now I don't think they have a chance.

You didn't want to but you did make me feel worse ! nah ! I never heard anything about Legault not being happy as a matter of fact he was the best addition , he played hard but seemed injury prone . Legace well ...............forget about it !

Legault is a good guy. He made it look like he was happy to be there but we all know his head and heart weren't into it.

Legault is a good guy. He made it look like he was happy to be there but we all know his head and heart weren't into it. We had Legault as a billet. As you said, real good guy - and as you said he sure loved it in Shawinigan. CB was a place he had no real connection to at all, and he probably would have been happy to stay in Shawi where things had gone so well for him the past couple of years, but I believe he tried to make the best of being traded to CB. He sure played hard. I don't know if it's true that his heart wasn't as into it here as it could have been, it may be. But if it was, like you said it was nothing against Cape Breton - just a combination of being happy in Shawinigan, and still being a bit disappointed about the near-miss at the AHL level. Which hopefully becomes a permanent gig this season.
