The #1 Team in the Country goes down ...............never ever would have predicted this . I seen the Dogs winning by 3 or more goals . Lacerte played well and the effort was there . Even a Blind Squirrel finds a nut every now and then ..............and it is a very tasty nut at that . Rough Bus Ride back to New Brunswick for these guys tonight .

Excellent effort and a very well-deserved win! The Eagles worked their asses off for that one, and the fans sure were happy for them to see them finally get rewarded after a few really frustrating games where nothing they tried seemed to work. After how hard the guys played, it would have been a sin it that remained a 1-0 loss or if SJ scored a backbreaker to make it 2-0. There wasn't a very big crowd there today, but the people who were there went pretty nuts for both the tying and winning goals. It's been said a million times, and it sounds cliché, but it's true - just give Cape Breton fans a team that works hard for sixty minutes and they'll get behind them - even if they're a bit thin on talent. Crowd showed lots of appreciation after both scoreless first two periods, real nice ovation. And as I said, great reactions for the two goals and the final buzzer. Lacerte was excellent - like he has been every start he's gotten so far. What a battler this guy's been! So many rebounds and scrambles, it stays out of our net plain and simply because this guy wants the loose puck more than any of the five guys on the other side. He led us to victory today - woulda been my first star. Cuzner and Shaw are a couple of other guys who led the way by giving it their all the whole game - great efforts despite having to play a lot of minutes after MacDougall went down in the first period. Speaking of which, any word on his condition? With Horyl/MacIntosh/Herrett already out, last thing we need is another injury. Some glad to see Hertzberg get the winner in the dying seconds - hopefully that gets the monkey off his back. He's been squeezing the stick so tight the last few games, probably feeling the pressure of being the go-to offensive guy now that Horyl is out. Hopefully a lot of relief came with that game-winner and he'll be able to stop overthinking in the offensive zone. Way fewer turnovers than Friday against Quebec, where they singlehandedly killed us. There are still tons of missed passes, cases of two guys going into the same lane, etc.... guys are still getting used to where one another is on the ice. That'll probably take several more games before things start flowing a little better. But in spite of it today, they just gutted out the win. SJ didn't show up. They sleepwalked through that game, even if they held on for the 1-0 win it would have been a terrible performance and I can't imagine coach Gallant would have been very happy. He said in the pregame he hasn't seen a sixty-minute game from his team yet, and today we saw what he was talking about. Maybe that was the wakeup call they needed, cuz they were nowhere near as good as the Quebec team that came in Friday night. Great effort, unexpected win that must be big for the guys' confidence!

Logan Shaw, do you read this messageboard or something? ha He's totally stepping up his game, imo. Has been the best Eagle on the ice for the last 3 home games.
Dion is another. Sure, he has a hard time finishing, but, he is giving it 110% everyshift out there. Grinding in the corners. Back checking hard.
Tough to see Taylor go down and not return from what looked like a shoulder injury, but, could also be a wrist/arm injury. Couldn't really see what he was holding. Again, like deer, wondering if anyone has heard anything.
Anyways, great to get a win on home ice. Should build some confidence going into the roadtrip. Speaking of which, completely possible that we walk away with 2 wins on this trip.
