Folks , do you think Ellis should have been selected for this , in light of the fact that we have had non drafted players in this before . www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=540910

I too was surprised Ellis wasn't picked for this, but when looking at the dmen they did take - most of them are at least as good as Ellis right now or pretty close to it. There's no one dman I see there that I'm incredulous to see taken ahead of Ellis. The fact that he's on a weak team is probably the only thing that kept him from being noticed/selected.
Not that it matters much anyway - that CHL/Russia series is one of the biggest farces in hockey. It should have been taken out to pasture long ago and replaced with some sort of real all-star game.

I think the Eagles need to promote him more. Our play by play guy for the Dogs went on and on about him when they beat us 2-1 little while back. Guess he had a ton of blocked shots and some other fine defensive play, but he got shut-out in the 3 star selections...I figure you have had a pretty good game when your opponents homer radio guy thinks you did.

He's captain at 18, and plays what seems like half the game every game... that's quite a bit of promotion. Good on your broadcaster though for noticing defensive plays from an opposing player.
