www.hockeyfights.com/games/125471 (click on the tv icon) You can see the Mcintosh "hit from behind" at the start of the Dion/Grant fight. I never saw it live (Thanks Telus) but judging by this a Match Penalty looks a harsh call. Ok that is definitely not worthy of a match penalty being called. Mcintosh tried to push him off the puck and he fell into the boards. I don't even think a 5 minute major and a game misconduct is warrented. 2 minutes at the most. Also the constant streaming of the 50/50 total at the bottom of the webcast = an embarrassment. Telus streams their webcast from Halifax off the silversion feed...so whatever you see on silvervision is on the webcast...ill take the multiple replays with what Halifax telus feed watchers get... People on radoter continually rave about how great the Halifax fees is compared to other teams...because thy get different angles, replays, etc...sure you may miss the odd faceoff and have to deal with 50/50 numbers and ads but its worth it.

I would happily watch the 50/50 update and shots of the crowd in Chicoutimi and Quebec if it meant I would see replays of the goals, occasional penalties, fights etc... Yes on a rare occasional a giant green monster in on the screen and you might miss something important, but even then, you get the replay of it anyway.

We should all bow our heads and give thanks for this impressive victory, because it will probably be a long time before we score 7 goals in a single game again.

Interesting (ie, useless ) trivia about this game. The game obviously marked Bobby Smith's first loss as Halifax's head coach. His FIRST loss had some similiarities to Shawn MacKenzie's LAST loss as Moose coach. - Both losses came at home to a Cape Breton team wearing its third jersey, and by 5 goal deficits. CB won 5-0 at the Metro Centre just after Christmas in 2004. - In both games, the first goal was scored by someone scoring their first goal of the season. In 2004, it was Francois Gauthier scoring in his first ever QMJHL goal game. (Looking back on it... that might have been the highlight of his career in Cape Breton. ;D) Don't you all feel more informed now? ;D

I would not have guessed that a goalie acquisition would boost goal scoring.
Metcalfe's comments are a sad commentary on the state of the physical side of Q-League hockey. The Q was never the toughest of the three leagues but it was a far sight better than it is now.
Did the pink ice look to be softer than normal or did the color simply show the snow more than usual? On tv, the surface seemed very snow-covered and choppy.
Speaking of poor tv viewing, our new camera location at the remodeled Center200 is terrible. The angle is too high and penalty box side play is shown from an almost vertical angle.
The best that can be said about Friday's game is that our teams are evenly matched and bounces can put either team in a bad way. A two or three goal deficit is a steep climb for either team.

I have a question. Why does the Q screw up the most obvious things? Like giving CB goal #3 tonight to MacDougall, when anyone with two functional eyes could see that Hertzberg clearly and simply tapped MacD's one-time pass into the net. Where is the confusion? The fact that one's 17 and the other's 27 and someone just saw the wrong 7 on the back of the sweater? Now you have all these headlines across the league, saying "Taylor MacDougall's hat trick led CB past Halifax..." No, Viktor Hertzberg had the hat trick. Is it just me or is it only in the Q that clear mistakes like this are made? Same thing happened at a home game a couple weeks ago against RN. A little guy with #22 and a right shot snuck in and banged home a loose puck. Sounds like JS Fournier right? They give the goal to PA Dion instead. I know it seems very nitpicky, but stuff like that is just bush. I just checked the Q site to see if Andrew Hayes was even listed. They've since credited him with the win The Q has also went back and changed the stats for the game, giving the Hat Trick to Hertzberg, as well as showing Hayes playing instead of Verenneau
