Speaking of Football and comedies...anyone ever watch "The League"? One of my favorite shows. I'm way behind the current season but I love it.

I love comedies but there's not that much quality lately, Big Bang Theory being the only one that I really watch. How "Two broke girls" stays on the air is beyond me. Seinfeld was and still is my favourite. I also really enjoyed Cheers and Soap. MASH is another one that I still enjoy with it's mixture of goofiness and very serious moments. For the older folks, The Carol Burnett and the Benny Hill shows were awesome! Wow you got progressively older with each sentence you wrote there lol No comedy on regular TV interests me right now. I actually can`t name 1 I like, but I can name many I hate. I`m sure there are some, if I gave them a chance for a while, that I might get into. I know many love Modern Family and its style is sort of up my alley but I tried watching it and was bored pretty fast. My favourite comedy on TV (sort of) is by far Curb Your Enthusiasm... but its only on HBO (new shows) and seems completely random as to when a new season comes out. Its Seinfeld, but with an edge lol. Like Seinfeld, I enjoy basically every line of dialogue. I also really got to enjoy Flight of the Conchords but it was only on for 2 seasons. I would love another season of it, very clever comedy. I really should make a point of getting into Arrested Development but I watched a bit of it back when it was a newish show and didn`t win me over.

AD is not for everyone but those of us who enjoyed it really love it. There's a lot of subtle jokes that if you aren't paying attention will fly right over your head and you won't find the show funny. If you watch it with an open mind you will enjoy it but nowadays people except blatant humor with a laughing track.

I`m not a big fan of any of Bateman, Cross, Tambor, Arnett etc They are ok at times but put them all together and its just not appealing to me,

For comedies, I have been really enjoying Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Some of the storylines are hilarious. Just starting season 2 so I have plenty of catch up to do.

The early years of the West Wing - the writing and ensemble was really good...went down hill in the later years though Have you tried "The Newsroom"? It's another Aaron Sorkin show with a great cast ensemble and great writing.

You still holding on to that grudge and still just blatantly ignore my posts? As I stated above that I watch The League. I didn't see this season though because FX changed their channels and I am still trying to get around to figuring out the new channel number, I will catch up on it though.

I wasn't as big fan of the new Netflix season, because it was done a little different but still enjoyed it. The best part of it on Netflix is that I could watch all the episodes back to back uninterrupted. There were a lot of jokes I originally missed that I was able to get this time around.

Anyone watching the new HBO show "True Detective" with Woody Harrellson and Matthew McCaugnahay (sp)...
Only 2 episodes in, but I love it so far. Its very slow moving to this point, and mostly entirely dialogue driven. I find it`s like the movie "Seven" in its eerie, depressing tone but drawn out over over probably 8 hours of TV lol. It`s about southern detective`s looking into a serial killer. Very character driven.

I don`t need anything much bigger than some of the scenes they have shown already to this point. I look forward to the build-up and storyline, I am in no rush lol.

I watched episode 1 and found it slow ... but I like the cast and expect it will get much better ... a lot of character development so far. I haven't watched episode 2 yet but have it in the PVR. McCaughnahy (sp ?) has had several solid movies lately ... Mud, Wolf of Wall Street (small part), Dallas Buyers Club.
