Halifax Metro Centre will host the 2015 World Curling Championships from March 28 to April 5. The Mooseheads could host, at the Metro Centre, any two of the first 4 games of the first round of the Q playoffs but nothing more until games 3 and 4 of the 2nd round. Looks like it's the Halifax Forum here we come!

Halifax won't have home ice in round one (if they even make the playoffs) and would be unlikely to last to a game 6 of the 1st round (assuming they fire-sale in december).

If we play a team based in Quebec it'll be 2-3-2, so a game 5 would be at the Metro Centre. I'm assuming it would be on the Friday night March 27th, which would definitely conflict with preparations for curling. Also if I remember correctly, the Moose were forced onto the road for two weeks in March 2010 due to the Brier. I think we played our last regular season home game in February that year. So if it takes more than a few days to prepare the ice for curling, it might impact the Moose even more.

Also at the Metro Centre from Thurs March 12 to Sunday March 15 are the CIS hockey championships. The Metro Centre will also be hosting both the AUS men's and women's basketball championships together on the same weekend most likely Thurs March 5 to Sunday March 8.

With the season ending on Mar 21, it looks like the Mooseheads are S.O.L. for playing out of the Metro Centre for the first round.
