www.tsn.ca/mma/story/?id=442471I don't follow UFC all that much. Put beer and wings in front of me and I'll watch it. Is this a big deal? Or will it be an undercard that isn't even worth watching?

I would say that this is pretty big news....I'm not a UFC fan either but I can't imagine this not being a good thing. (unless tickets sales are sluggish) I would think it would be in their best interest to bring in fights that will sell tickets and not just undercard material. **EDIT** I actually miss the good 'ol days of boxing. Big cards, big fights with Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roy Jones Junior etc..etc...There use to be so much hype around big cards in Vegas. A friend of mine's dad would go to these big bouts and always bring us back t-shirts..... This MMA stuff is wildly popular though. Again, I think it's great for Halifax.

This is a fight night card, not a PPV. So yes it will be a 'B list' card. The main event fight(s) will probably be top contenders or rising stars. The lower end of the card will be local(ish) fighters and relative no names.
You'll probably see TJ Grant as the main event for this card, as he's local and also a top contender at 155. It only makes sense. You might see Ryan Jimmo on the card as he has local ties. Otherwise there isn't a lot of 'local' fighters in the UFC currently. There will probably be a good amount of Canadian fighters tho. Unlikely we see Rory MacDonald on it as he's a pretty big name and there's a UFC PPV in Montreal not long after.

Alright. It sounds like something I'd watch from home anyway. I'd imagine the site lines at the Metro Centre, or any arena for that matter, would not allow you to see the up-close stuff necessary to get the most out of MMA. You'd be sitting there watching it on the screens.

It will certainly be a B list card. The best anyone can hope for is a healthy TJ Grant in the main event and a veteran like Franklin or a Nogueira on the card.
If people plan on going i'd suggest buying a fight club membership or else you likely won't be getting in the door...12,000 or so tickets won't last long for their first card east of Montreal.
