The price will be high to move up and get Balmas. Is he as good as they say he is and do you guys think he will be beneficial in our go for it year? We have the assets but are we willing to give them up to move up? I doubt it.
The goalie seems more probable.

I am by no means an expert but from what I understand both Balmas and Fitzpatrick would be available at the 5 pick. Lots of rankings have Krys, Campoli, Laberge, Girard, Green and Mayer ranked ahead of them. Balmas would be great from the local point and a great player and have heard great things about the goalie.

Well with that info I do not see why they would not draft Balmas then. Time will tell how this all plays out.

I wouldn't. The back end needs help long before upfront. You don't take him based on his hometown. You improve the back end with a top notch goalie.

Fitzpatrick ? So a 17 year old Goalie in your "Go For It Year " ? Well hal, maybe Mason McDonald at #3 in 2012 wasn't such a bad idea after all? Do not be surprised if Cape Breton looks like they went "off the board" when comparing their pick to that list. I'd love to see CB take Mason McDonald simply because I'd love to watch Mason MacDonald develop. I think he'd take over the starter role by Christmas. With Meyer and Fancy already in the picture ?

Fitzpatrick ? So a 17 year old Goalie in your "Go For It Year " ? Fucale and Philippe Cadorette both say hi. 2 Goalies from the Q final last year, both 17 years old at the time.

As long as this goalie is the real deal. For instance , the goalie drafted ahead of Fleury way back in the day was supposed to be the shit. He was not that great at all and the number two goalie picked ( Fleury ) was far superior.

Hopefully we don't pick a bust but more of a question will be getting the players to report. Hopefully now that this team has turned the corner players won't be as hesitant to report.

You guys need a goalie... If Fitzgerald is around at pick #5, I think you'd be foolish not to take him at this point. Bureau is just not good enough, this playoff series has been brutal. Eagles can't even stay in a game if they're down 3-5 goals after one period.

So I am leaning towards Fitzgerald with our 5th pick. Would be nice to pick Balmas but think that a goalie would take care of an immediate issue. Never had a chance last night.

I thought it was set in stone that you guys wanted Balmas from minute one. I think it still is the game plan too. They do have the picks to trade up to maybe get Evan as well. The really question is what other team need a goalie? Yes Halifax does but they don't pick till the second round, so that's not a worry. Bathurst could but they need to build up their front end first. I think he might still be there for your second pick.
Also the guy ranked first will not go first. It's not the same as last year with Roy. This guy has said flat out no to the Q and is going NCAA. Roy Sao he wanted to play just not outside of Quebec. He will get picked just not in the first round. I see Quebec taking him in the second or third round.

There we go with that bs again. CB is not even involved in whoever it is you are talking about and I am still mad.
I have been hearing the Balmas rumours too that he is the guy but that was months ago. Game plans can change.
