Weird.......I thought you would be concentrating on winning the series. If Quebec gets Erne and Duclair back like it seems they might, it would be a good series.....would suck if Halifax were still missing their injured guys though. Andrews and Hardie should be good to go for rd 2, leaving Ashley as the only injury. He's a big loss, but we should be able to cover it up for 2-3 weeks, if needed. So according to the poster yesterday, Ashley's apparently gone to Ottawa too see a specialist. Isn't there a doctor in Ottawa who performs procedures that have been found to speed up the recovery process? Hopefully it's the same doc and it works, and we get him back sooner then later. Damn concussions can drag. concussions suck.....I hope they don't try to rush him back...sending him to Ottawa for a specialist is great, but I hope it's not for the reason of rushing him. My daughter was in a motorcycle accident a while back and it took almost 3 years before she was symptom free.

Nice goals in there... but a lot of standing around leaving guys open by PEI. You can tell they had nothing left after the first period goals. And you guys are too hard on Ciampini , his breakaway wasn`t that slow. It was a nice read by him. LOL....I don't think it was really that slow either, he just knew he had tons of time so once in the zone slowed down, but a nice read and nice goal. Charlottetown gave up before the game started. No, they apparently came out strong, had 3 breakaways and some other good chances early. It wasn`t until we put 3 in to end the period, that they started shutting down I would guess. In some highlights they look like they have nothing left to give.

I'm guilty of exaggeration in this case. I've spent a lot of time on here defending Ciampini. He isn't nearly as bad as people make him out to be. But he's the butt of a lot of jokes, and sometimes it's hard to help it. I remember he was supposed to work on his skating when he was at the Habs development camp, but he still skates like a baby deer (moose?). My only issue with him is when they try to get him to play on the top 2 lines and specifically with Drouin. Plays just die with him. I really don`t mind him on line 3. He is smart enough to be responsible defensively and can chip in some offense from that line occasionally.

Moynihan - Ciampini should be able to put in some good work. Danny has stepped it up so far. Really like his play. Hope it continues into the tougher rounds.

I watched the first 10 or so minutes, as it was a half hour before our game....they came out flying, but after the Pelletier 4 minute penalty I didn't see much after that.

Same points as Gadoury right now, and nobody is crapping on him. Charlottetown gave up before the game started. 7 points in 4 games just shows he has been loafing all season and decided to wake up now. It would seem to justify the criticism he has had all year. But also put it into context ... 4 games in a row vs a very young rebuilding team ... 2 vs 15 ... is a great way for everybody to pad their stats.

Meier, Moynihan, Ciampini, Shewfelt etc... these are 3/4 line guys getting lots of icetime against a 15th seed. As reesor pointed out - Ciampini has started series 1 pretty strong (based on points) the last 3 years, then got quiet after that. But I am not expecting big production from the 3rd line going forward, especially where 2 guys on it are rookies.

Maybe it's because they have a couple good forwards injured and he's finally being used in a role that allows him to get points.

There is a good chance our clubs will be playing in round two. I hope so! Should be a great series with excellent, fast hockey. Congrats on an easy victory, just like we had over the Screaming Eagles. Things are going to get a lot tougher now. What more could we ask for than playoff hockey?

He played with Boudreau/Ashley last year and was awesome in the regular season. That line was together for the first couple rounds of the playoffs last year as well. But both Ciampini and Boudreau for some reason tailed off the past two years in the 3rd round and beyond. Brent Andrews and Ryan Falkenham both worked their way ahead of them on the depth chart and they found themselves on the 4th line against Rouyn-Noranda, Baie-Comeau, and then later in the Memorial Cup. Hopefully a couple deep playoff runs and age will help Ciampini learn what it takes to succeed when the caliber of play increases.

Pretty sure Andrews and Hardie are as much injured as they are resting. Eases the blow of Ashley if he is in fact out for a few weeks. Hopefully we can bottle the depth scoring we had tonight. Game was over early, but never hurts the confidence for guys to pot a few goals and help the team. Nice Weegar finally shot the puck. He's so good at creating lanes, but passes too much. Joe Grouleau takes the prize for worst dman. Jacques? why? because Sprong danced around him like he does every one? Groleau <<< Jacques. Jacques has been poor all year. He's an adventure every time he's on the ice. Nearly every d-breakdown in this series, certainly Game 1, was a result of him. C. Fitzgerald and Taillefer were heads and tails above Jacques in training camp. It's a mystery he survived the first cut let alone made the team. For some reason you are picking on this kid. You do realize he is just 17, and actually will be until the end of July. I don't what hockey you are watching, but I have seen every game he has played at home, and all the pre-season games. He made the team this year SOLELY based on pre-season play. He stood out in those games at the Forum, I can't imagine what you were watching. He has played decent in league play as well, and in case you don't know, young D take longer to develop then young forwards. He has kept it fairly simple, and laid a few dandy hits. Has he made mistakes, yes, just like every other Moose D when they were 17. Have you watched the young Islander D in this series? They will prosper as they age, because they have potential. However, because they are young, they were thoroughly exposed. It is not too often we see someone over-analyze the play of a 17 year old D playing sparingly in the 6-7 spot.

Third straight season we've swept our 1st round opponent, all against Maritime teams Also it's the fourth straight season we've been involved in a round one sweep, the Juniors beat us in four straight in '11.
