You're scaring me. What's the rules on season ticket holder purchasing tickets? Halifax Mooseheads ?@hfxmooseheads 15h Sked will be announced tomorrow. Rd2 tix for ST/15 Pack Holders on sale now until 5pm on Tues. Tickets for Gm1&2 to Gen Public Weds at 10am. Can a season ticket holder with a playoff package purchase extra tickets? I'm probably going to go up on Saturday night which I assume will be game 2. If this means that a season ticket holder can purchase me some tickets then maybe one of you beauties should purchase some tickets for your best pal from Moncton. Tickets went on sale this morning at 10am. Upper bowl is about 1/2 sold for Friday night. Even less tickets gone for Saturday. You shouldn't have a problem getting a ticket. I decided to postpone my trip until round 3....risky but whatever, gotta have faith in the mighty Moose. And I couldn't be caught dead in the upperbowl at the Metro Center. I would just pay scalper prices like I did the last two years.

I'm surprised how confident everyone is here. I like the team we have and seen all year how good we are but Gatineau worries me. This series the coaching is where there difference will be made. We know how good both coaches are, we've seen it first hand how good both of them are. No one has brought up the line match ups. That's where I'm glad to see we have both Hardie and Andrews back. Hardie gives us a soils 2 pairings now which will be tested this round. This round could come down to who has a better third line.
Unfortunately I have to finish there but I will add more later.

If you want to be a Debbie Downer go ahead, nobody is calling you out on it ; I would say most here are cautiously optimistic... except for HFXFAN09 of course, who is cocky as fuck.

If necessary, Game 5 will be on Sportsnet according to the Moose's Twitter feed.
Another random fact: The 10 teams that were in the CHL top 10 went a combined 40-2 in the first round of the playoffs. #2 Guelph plays #6 London in the 2nd round. Also #3 Portland plays #10 Victoria.
About 2500 tickets remain for each game this weekend as of 3 hours ago.

Ducharme`s coaching record at AAA and in the Q would suggest he is a good coach. Mediocre coaches would have some issues along the way. Like Phil Jackson in the NBA, its not always easy getting a talented team to play to their fullest potential. Tons of talented team never seem to reach their potential every year, and many fail in the playoffs. Ducharme is always calm, and always has a vision for where the team should be come playoff time. His teams perform very consistently overall. Even in 2012, we were expected to be mid-pack and that was when we thought we`d have Drouin all year. We finished 6th with 3 16 year olds leading the way, and made it to game 6 of round 3 after a 0-3 series comeback against an intimidating opponent in the Remparts. Some coaches can get a mediocre team to be tough to play against in the regular season, but can`t figure out how to win in playoffs even with a good team (see: Jean). The best coaches are the ones who win in playoffs as that`s when the real coaching and adjusting begins. Any contender who hires Ducharme will play to their potential based on what we have seen. I said he was a good coach......just would like to see how he makes out without the superstars in the lineup, that's all. You may be right in that any contender would play to their potential under him, but that's not what I'm talking about. Your "we finished 6th with 3 16 year olds leading the way", is hilarious though....One in the NHL now, one regarded as the best jr player in the world, and and other regarded as the best jr goalie in Canada(although that's debatable). It's not like he had 3 5th rounders there that lead the way. lol Mackinnon had 78 points in 59 games. Drouin had 29 points in 33 games. Obviously good production for 16 year olds, but we aren`t talking superstar production here overall. They were still rookies and had very unpolished games. Fucale had a 3.16 GA and .892 save %. He wasn`t exactly shutting down the league at an elite level as he still had a lot to learn. The only way you could discount his ability to coach would be if he underachieves... say he has a mid pack quality roster team and they finish bottom 5 or so. It`s not often coaches take bottom 5 rosters and get them into the top 10 for example. His team next year will probably be mid-pack given who we think is back now. If they end up mid-pack, it doesn`t mean he wouldn`t be a great coach for a contending team because he has proven that he thrives in that situation. Bottom line is he has gotten the most of his talent since he arrived, seeing big improvements in many players. It`s not just the record he has, but the dominating wins along the way too. We`ve had top teams that only rarely seemed to consistently dominate weaker or even equal opponents.

So, by that logic, do we have to understand that anything less that the Memorial Cup should be considered as a bust?

And while I'm a big fan of Fucale I would still just put him in the "one of the best" goaltenders in the league category...not "by far the best in Canada"

I don't think there is a coach in the Q that wouldn't have done the same with Halifax last year. I never argued that he wasn't good......just that I'd like to see him in a rebuild.....we all know what he can do with talent running out of his ears.

"Rebuild" pretty much guarantees more losing, and when that happens you'll be flappin your gums "see!!! see!! Ducharme can only win with star players!"

I don't think too many people are being outwardly cocky. We all know we don't have last years team. I for one am very nervous about this matchup. I will have to see how the first couple of games go to get a feel for what I think the outcome will be...yes this is a very safe way to go. Not much of a risk taker. I just still have those lingering feelings of losing to Gatineau in the past, so the old ghosts still haunt me. The more I think about it, I think I was nervous about the outcome of all of the series from the 2nd round on last year. I am a very superstitious person, so I believe in the jinx. Please no one jinx us. lol.

Not at all......if it's a good rebuild with players developing, I would certainly mention that....Being a Bathurst fan, I've seen way too many examples of horrible rebuilds. As I said before, I would have loved to see Gallant put Saint John through a rebuild.

I never argued that he wasn't good......just that I'd like to see him in a rebuild.....we all know what he can do with talent running out of his ears. You do realize that all hfxfan09 said was regarding this series and coaching, that Dom`s record speaks for itself to this point. How can you debate that (which is what you are doing)? We didn`t suddenly turn into a rebuilding team. Its still a good team and his resume is a good one with them. Did it bother you that much to see a moosehead fan confident in something? Any coach in the league would have coached that team last year to a 58-6 record? Are you serious? He traded a good 19 year old defenseman away and went with a 17 year old in Murphy who needed work. His 2nd line had Ciampini and Boudreau on it - a line that carried the team when we missed the stars for a month. He took a rookie from Ontario Jr. B and molded him into a #2 defenseman by the end of the year. You aren`t giving him enough credit for things that go unnoticed. The progression of some guys allowed us to avoid making the big Xmas trade that usually guts the cupboards. You can`t discount the job he has done, say anyone could do it, say he isn`t a good coach until he has bad players (and finishes 9th instead of predicted 13th?)... but then cover your ass by saying "I said he was a good coach" lol. There are COUNTLESS examples of very good teams that go down in flames - even teams coached by coaches widely considered good coaches. So the fact we have lived up to the potential in playoffs to this point is coaching which is second to none.

We're actually pretty laid back this year (Aside from a couple rants about reffing/"The league is out to get us"... lol). Winning it all last year has made us (at least me) a lot calmer about this year. We weren't supposed to be contenders this year, and we've found ourselves in this position. I'm hoping for a long playoff run, but still consider this year to be a bonus.

A lot of factors contributed to our down years between 09 and 11. The Marchand deal didn't help, but it wasn't the only thing. We lost all of our good players after 08. Voracek was 19 years old, so he could've come back to Halifax as a 19yo. Instead he stuck in Columbus, so we didn't get a chance to trade him. The only player we got to trade for any value, is MacMillan (Who had a whole shit-disburbing fiasco surrounding him that year). We traded him to Rimouski for the pick we used to draft Andrews I believe. During the year, Marchand was a liability more than an asset. Definitely disruptive. Andrews was the 1st round pick we got for Gabriel O'Connor at the 2009 draft. That was a significant move by Cam as it showed we were going young no matter what even if it meant bottoming out which it did in 2009-2010 and a move that Marcel Patenaude would not have done. Ah, I knew it was one or the other. Thanks. Usually I'd double-check the Q site but the list of trades going back to 2009 seems to be down.
