Like others have said, I think it's important that the Moose have a great start. You don't want the Bob to get rocking or give the Olympique a shot of confidence and momentum. If Halifax can get out of the first tied or with the lead I think they hang on for a close win. 4-2 Moose with the EN.

John Moore @rinkrant Officiating should not be an issue tonight. @qmjhl assigns referees Dutil & Fortin. Unlikely Muylaert & Tessier will work rest of playoffs.
looks like the league wasn't happy with the officiating of game 4 either

Gonna be a fun game tonight!

What, the Q actually saw something unbecoming with respect to officiating?
To be honest, the officiating in Game 4 was bad. Not taking sides - it was simply bad. But an on ice official standing on top of the Vuic/Sheppard fight should have clearly seen Sheppard refused to release Vuic's sweater. It was that reason Vuic was back on top of Sheppard. To call that a 5-minute major was rediculous and a complete error.
We have debatted adnauseam, but can you imagine if the Moose had lost that game? What a shit storm that would be.
Hopefully, and all anyone can ask for, is the League hold officials accountable in the same manner as players. If indeed Muylaert and Tessier are done for the playoffs, then I say Good Riddance, after that display on Wednesday.
However, I'll be very surprised if Marc Muylaert is done - he is a very experienced referee with an international resume. Time will tell.

Gonna be a fun game tonight! You are correct re Dutil. That is where I was heading and obviously lost my train of thought. As I think back to the Memorial Cup, I can only suggest we might want to take a collection for Dom in advance of the game. At least Dom speaks French, Gerard Gallant doesn't.

He screwed over the Sea Dogs (vs Shawinigan) on a televised Memorial Cup game. And in the same tournament the CHL bailed him out in what it called a "proceedural error" in a game between Shawinigan and Edmonton. Dutil is known to have a bias.

We all heard him at the Mem Cup screwing over the Sea Dogs- the fact he is still employed by the Q shows how pathetic the good ole garcon network from the bowels of the Quebecois hinterland is!!!

It only takes one misappropriate call to change the whole complexion of a series. The call against Vuic and the resulting 5-minute major was one such. Dutil has a documented history of having roses tinted glasses as far as non-Quebec teams are concerned. The League ought to have known this, and assigned him to another game. His reputation is well documented. Can you imagine the shit fest if Dutil waves off a Halifax goal, for example?

It's really strange that Quebec teams complain about the same bias against them from Dutil. Lots of preemptive complaining in this thread so far.

To be fair, if the players lose a game one can live with that. If the on ice official is a major part of that loss, it is unacceptable regardless of who wins. The Q director of officials should have known about the previously, and well documented, concerns regarding Dutil. From a risk assessment point of view, he should never have been assigned this game, and especially so considering it is on National Television.

Just for fun, a trip down memory lane to the 2012 Memorial Cup.
Looking at forums, and past interviews, it looks like Quebec-based coaches have spouted off quite a bit about Maritime referees. It's just gamesmanship. That clip was pretty funny though.
