As I also stated, Groulx is very over-rated. He never has control because his players have no respect for him. You saw typical Olympiques hockey. This has been going on for years. You are not worthy of being an Olympiques' fan. You should stay home and watch your beloved Maple Leafs on TV. Oh, I forgot...you have no TV. While I'm not one of them, so many people don't own a physical tv these days. This might have been a cheap shot maybe 10-15 years ago. #dinosaur

Not sure why Groulx couldn't reign his boys in a little bit......a lot of the penalties were just stupid ones to take.....Moose scored 13 of their 20 goals on the powerplay and the pp won the series.....next round should be good, as I don't think 2 coaches are dumb enough not to see that. 2 coaches already have so why not 3!

It's not that the number of penalties should have been a surprise to Groulx. Poirier tied for second with the most minor penalties for the year with 52. The leader had 53. Sheppard led the league in penalty minutes with 165 and Dunn was 5th with 156. He knew what he was dealing with from the get-go. It wasn't the emotion that wasn't managed by the players as suggested by Groulx. It was the way he taught them how to play. Benching Poirier for the 3rd period of their last game isn't the way to get a player to change his playing style. If he really wanted to change his style he would have begun early in the season. The attitude of the players reflect the attitude of the coach.

Happy with the win and having a great PP.

PP often wins games at all levels especially in playoff hockey. It often comes up and has in the past for the Moose that their power play was too weak to win when it matters. Spin it anyway you want, team not better 5 on 5, the power play is working and people are now trying to find something else.
Bad penalties or not they are often taken by a inferior team that has to play on the edge of the rules to have a chance to win. Teams also take frustrated penalties when they cant keep up or score. It can also be caused by bad reffing but that is left up to the fans interpretation.
Then there are the trolls that year after year are reaching/fabricating at whatever tiny point they can use to degrade success/wins.
Sometimes they go as far as to belittle teenagers attitude they know nothing about or a organizations moves or non moves to put down wins. Some only show at these times to take away enjoying the moment. That just makes me enjoy it more like when the other teams fans boo every move of a star player, Hmmmmm suckers.

At this point I am hoping for a VD win today. I think our best chance is against BLB, but at this point I doubt they can win the next two vs. Rimouski. However, I look forward to a VD/HFX series, tons of offense and it should be very exciting. No matter who we get in round 3 will be tough, might as well make it exciting.

Yah I'm hoping for the Foreurs as well. No sense in trying to exorcise the ghosts of the Rimouski Oceanic until we absolutely have to.

I would rather meet Rimouski in the final than Baie Comeau if we make it that far. The Drakkar would be out for revenge and we spanked Rimouski this year, where possible in their heads.

Yea I'm hoping for Val d'Or too. Sorta bad luck to HOPE for a certain opponent(careful what you wish for) and in no way should the Foreurs be underestimated.....but I think Moose could expose VD and make it fairly quick series tbh.

I wonder if Val d'Or would fly, or use the bus in the semi's. I am quite sure Halifax would fly, and that could be a difference.

The main difference between Val-d'Or and Gatineau will be their defense. They are bigger, more skilled and more experienced. I imagine Randy Gazzola is going to want to put a pounding on the team that traded him at the deadline and went on to win the Memorial Cup. He's 6'2" 228lbs. Graves is 6'4" 225. Their whole top 6 is big with the exception of Gelinas who is enough of an offensive threat to counter-act his lack of size. Their size and experience will make a little tougher on our power-play than we've seen so far. Val d'Or gave up more goals in the regular season than Gatineau did. But I think that size and experience will come into play in the playoffs, and goals will still be harder to come by. I'd still rank both Blainville and Rimouski ahead of Val d'Or defensively of course. I'd also say Bibeau is better than Steeves, even though Steeves wasn't the reason Gatineau lost any games. I think in the back of my mind, I want to play the #3 seed to show that Halifax isn't a weak #2 seed, regardless of the weak division they played in.
