It's not really something to be happy with. PEI got hosed. who said I was happy? was merely pointing out you were sanctimoniously wrong we didn't get hosed but we did get screwed somewhat for now Please explain how you didn't get hosed. I wasn't that wrong either I was wishful thinking. It did come true just at a cost to you guys. Recap they keep you guys 4 overall pick and Karabacek give you the 7th pick while you give them the 12th pick? So they drop 5 spots and keep your better pick and still get a solid 1st round pick. To me that is a Hose job. Now in saying that I think you have a wicked chance to get and probably will get the Maher kid from Newfoundland. He will work well with Sprong. That being said Gatineau won this big time.

It was PEI's at one time, but Gatineau owned that pick for a year. PEI moved up from 12 to 7, at the cost of Karabacek.

Is this the PEI board or what?
I will give my 2 cents anyways.
This all but confirms that Groulx is a sleazebag.

I wouldn't be against taking Girard if Fitzpatrick was gone

Anthony Marcotte @anthonymarcotte · 42m There are still details to finalize the transaction in Gatineau, Sherbrooke. It is not set in stone yet.

only benefit to Girard is he'll probably play 5 seasons in the Q. Undersized is an understatement.

I am happy thus far with the moves made today. I would really try everything possible that is sensible to move up and grab Fitzpatrick. If he is not available then who do we target? Balmas that ealry? What type of d man is Girard? Can we draft him and flip him somewhere else for more players or picks? I really think we need a young franchise goalie.

Reilly Pickard or Mark Grametbauer could be decent consolation prizes for CB in the 2nd or 3rd round.
The goalies out of Quebec this year are fairly weak. There's probably a few out there that will end up starters but nobody glaringly obvious.

If the Eagles really want, Fitzpatrick, the only need to move up one spot if all this speculation is true. Unless Sherbrooke is really intent on taking Fitzpatrick, we should not have to sell the farm to move up one more spor, perhaps our number 5 pick and one of our three first rounders in 2015 might do the trick. If a deal cannot be struck, i would like to see the Eagles take Guillaume Beck. He has some size and according to reviews, is strong defensively, which we need. An added bonus is htat he is a right hand shot, which we need to complement Leveille and Lalonde. Thet alresdy have, Deschamps, Bell, Nosella and Baillergon as left hand shots.
