panthers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=721143Not bad for what, the 5th last selection in last year's draft? He took a big step forward last year. Florida didn't have to sign him this year I don't believe, due to the fact he was drafted a year late. So the fact that he was signed "early" means he'll almost 100% be playing pro next year. Which isn't a surprise to most. We continue to have success with our FA pickups. Far cry from 3 years ago.

I'd say. Weegar, Gadoury and Gazzola were all huge free agent signings. Lindsay was a bit of a bust but, 3 for 4 isn't bad.
Ned O'Brien they are not.

He was a fine 4th liner when we had injuries in the Memorial Cup year. But even with more ice time last year he didn't produce much. And with even more ice time in Cape Breton he hardly produced at all. Vuic has done his job. We knew what we were getting with him. A bit of a hothead when he first came to town, but he's gotten better. I'm sure he'll crack the lineup as the tough guy next year. But we weren't looking for a goal-scorer when we got him. Lussier was a very good find. He filled a hole, especially when we had injuries. He got off to a shaky start, but he got better as the season progressed. Really hope we find him a place to play in the Q, assuming Ryan, Gadoury and Hardie are our 20yo's. Although with the league shafting 20yos, maybe he's better off playing in University. Gazzola, Weegar, and Gadoury have been our best FA pickups of the last 2 years. But we've also done a good job filling gaps with FA pickups in years that we wanted to ice our best lineup.

Only aligator alley lies between him and Drouin. Now that would be a nice road trip next February. ;>)

Great story in today's Herald. Really refreshing to hear how grateful he is to those who positioned to make it happen despite the odds.

I have not heard if he is injured but Mack played in the first or second game with San Antonio, is still listed on the roster but has not played since. Pretty strange since they where so high on him.
