Bit of an exaggeration on the ehlers hit it's a hit we've seen a hundred times before What I mean is as far as those kind of knee on knee hits go, its as bad as you will see with regards to it looking intentional. Many times guys come together and there is barely a flinch or the slightest movement of changing the leg direction as the guy shifts at the last second (Drouin would cause this alot because of how slippery he was). And usually if there is a serious injury, the hitt-er is crucified by fans and suspended even if the hit was almost unpreventable. On this hit, Ehlers had changed angles earlier than you often see, and the PEI guy really drove that knee out to prevent getting beat inside. If Ehlers is carried off screaming on a stretcher, I bet the league (and media/hockey fans) would have really came down hard on him. But he wasn't hurt, so we will all move on.

Bit of an exaggeration on the ehlers hit it's a hit we've seen a hundred times before I don't know if I agree Bois. In real time it looked bad. I watched it again on Moores website this morning and Ehlers was flying and cut inside and Getson was beat and clearly stuck his leg out to take Ehlers down. Probably reactionary on the rookies part but dangerous none the less and injuries have happened on very similar plays.

The Ehlers hit wasn't intentional imo. Looked bad, but Getson is a rookie, looking to make an impact, help his team. I doubt he's ever played against a guy as fast and agile as Ehlers, so I think we can cut him a little slack. It's a tough play when someone with Ehlers speed his coming through the neutral zone, but Getson needs to learn to anticipate that play a bit better. He could have blow out his own knee.
As for the game, pretty solid 60 mins. Played with a lot more confidence and energy with Ehlers back. He can't solve all the problems, and we still struggled with the same things, but having him back gives us a good top 6, and they play a good puck possession game, so gets us out of our own end more.
I didn't think Ehlers played great, but rarely do guys coming back play great right away. He tried to do too much, but there's an adjustment period, so he'll be fine. Nice to get 2pts heading into a 3 in 3 weekend.

Truly the game was played pretty poorly by both teams it was a poor game of pond hockey, a definite lack of skill or systems by both teams.

They are almost always a guy reacting to someone they are about to miss with a hit by sticking his knee out. I think its rare a guy goes at a guy with the intention of kneeing him. I don't really mean it was intentional to try and hurt him, but rather its as intentional as you will see regarding what he does with his body there (compared to a last second flinch that catches a knee). Ehlers had completely turned his body towards the middle - it wasn't like a last second attempt to jump left/right out of the way of a hit and he left his leg out to get clipped. But we (hockey fans) still crucify guys for throwing dangerous hits like that even though reactionary. I think most are.

I think it was actually a good game by the moose given what they are working with and how they have played lately. After getting down early in shots like 9-2 or something, they went on like a 20 minute run without allowing a shot. The team actually did a great job all night limiting PEI's chances - of course, PEI are struggling now and some of that was probably their doing. Still, a pretty solid effort overall.

I agree. The game was entertaining and had a good flow for the most part. Both teams showed a lot of speed and hustle. The only thing I could see that would cause someone to say it was a sloppy game was several players fanned on shots or overskated the puck, but that probably had more to do with ice conditions than anything.

Bit of an exaggeration on the ehlers hit it's a hit we've seen a hundred times before Like Garret Clarke on Josh Currie. Although currie got up and just decked clarke when he came back at him that was great.

I didn't see the game last night. What were the lines, moreso who was Ehlers playing with? Ehlers - Moynihan - Gadoury Meier - Falkenham - Fortier Shewfelt - Moynihan - Watt Bent - Crossley - King Dom mixed and matched guys at times, but they were something like that.

Vuic a healthy scratch or is he another one on the injury list?

Healthy scratch, disciplinary reasons. Apparently violated a team rule.

Was quite happy with the game last night.
First goal was a mental gaff by Taillfier, second was a terrible Patrick Stefan-eque play by Ehlers. Nik managed both to be our best and worst player on the ice last night. Trying to do too much by himself.
Ford was really solid last night, and Josh Fitzgerald breaking up the 3-on-1 was really good to say.

I've been pretty disappointed with Connor Moynihan. I thought he would break out a bit offensively this year. He looks a little stronger but he's still sluggish.
Same thing with Shewfelt, except he is still showing that great jump and hustle he's always had. Just thought he'd create more offense this year.
On the other hand, I didn't expect much of Watt but he's been one of our best 2 way forwards lately.
