Former Eagles Joey Haddad and Chris Culligan are enjoying their year with the first place Cardiff Devils in the 10 team EIHL. The Devils currently have a 13 point lead in 1st but some trailing teams have games in hand. Culli had 2 goal and 3 assists last weekend while playing Defense for the 18th time in the last 19 games filling in for injured defensemen. Ducks fans aren't speaking highly of him at all on reddit, hopefully things go well for him in Montreal.

He's a bottom of the roster PK guy who was on waivers...of course they're not going to speak highly of him. Wrong. People love bottom six players for the energy they bring, regardless of skill. Here's some comments: Logan Shaw is the PT Cruiser of bottom-6 players: isn't too fast, marginal fuel efficiency, big enough too haul stuff but doesn't do it that well, reliable but can break down sometimes. Some people will see him and be like "looks cool" while some will be like " wow that thing is fucking ugly." He is literally the most average 4th liner I have ever seen play. Shaw is like a create-your-own-player who's stats have all been left on Default.

They're not all the same and they're not all considered "warriors" because they block shots and usually have hands of stone. I think those comments are pretty accurate to the Q player I watched and the NHL player he's become. Nothing special. Can do enough things right along with his size to play a pro game. Will only thrive as a defensive 4th liner used to kill penalties and match up against other 4th liners. There is nothing wrong with people calling an average 4th liner an average 4th liner. Just like it's ok that some of you don't love all CBSE 3rd liners like you loved Pascal Morency.

We've seen some players that knew their role, and played like complete shit, but they've won people over with their work ethic. In my honest opinion, I agree with you about Shaw, he's nothing special, but you have to respect the fact he made it to the show unlike you, me, and everyone else here.

A random fan saying he's the PT Cruiser of hockey players isn't disrespectful when it's the truth. Neither is saying he's an average 4th liner. You do realize that the 2 comments and emotions are not needing to be parallel to each other, right? I can say an NHL player is average, or even below average, and still respect the fact he made it. Just like I can say a musician sucks who is a millionaire because I don't like the music but can still appreciate that they have a talent. I find it funny now how a fan base that was never impressed and if anything used Shaw's presence as a reason to hate on the team and his old man now think he's a superstar because he made the NHL. If only all these people with such strong opinions about him bothered to pay to watch him play here for 4 years....

I agree, it's ok to be a niche NHLer, cause at the end of the day, your still an NHLer, and being paid as such.
