A very underwhelming trade period for most Q teams ... especially the Maritimes.
CB dumped the poison at a cost but added some pieces that will help ... SJ made moves for the future that weaken them this year ... Bathurst just did what they always do ... Charlottetown did very little ... Halifax traded away veterans for the future ... and we got rid of some poison and added some character.

Plus 2 new Euros ...
If Sweeney is not back I'd guess that Zilbert would be first in. But would you consider going with a 20 YO Euro if you could get one at a decent cost ? Like Weiser from Sherbrooke ?

Like Weiser from Sherbrooke ? I like the concept, but I don't think Weiser is an option. as a skilled Swiss player he can probably do well in his league at home at 20, if he was to play in the Q at 20 Sherbrooke would likely keep him as they only have Vanier as a lock OA.

As a Ramblers fan, I have been following this board ever since the Cats signed MacEwen to see what the plans for him were. If the Rams are going to make the playoffs, they need their captain back. None of us in Ramland ever thought he would be back since he is a 6'5" offensively gifted centre that can fight as well and the Cats are a very small team overall. It is very difficult waiting to hear what the plans are for him. Will everything be decided today? Could he be back in Amherst? The Cats are very closed-mouthed about the team but if I look at the numbers it looks like they have 15 forwards and it would be a shame for him to sit on the bench or worse, be a healthy scratch, when he could play 40 minutes or more for the Rams. Anyone have any concrete info on him?

He is definitely our go to guy and is on for all the critical situations since he was named captain.

More like 20-23 minutes then...the top NHL centers play 19-21 minutes a game...in Junior A a guy can probably play up to 25 on occasion. Personally I would have kept him and Jacob and not added Zilbert ANd Beaton(maybe one not both) with Cormier out indefinitely.

Anyway, with the Zilbert and Beaton trades it does look like they don't have MacEwen in their plans. Too bad for him as he is a very hard working hockey player that will do whatever it takes but he is well loved here in Amherst and we will be welcomed back with open arms.
