I Should start keep tracking how many games have I called right? I did say 3-2 I didn't say it was going to be in regulation. Boys started out very slow, in fact Drumondville scored on their first shot and the boys didn't have a very good first period. In the Second they came out flying, and were throwing pucks at the net had many good chances before and after Ehlers tied it; that kid has found a new level he made the Drumondville d look silly twice tonight. Third, they just kept on pressuring but couldn't solve Brodeur that kid will be in the AHL next season he is one very good goalie. Overtime solved nothing, even if we did have a powerplay; the shootout was fun and nice to see young Resop getting some wins in his starts. (This team is starting to gel; Cape Breton or our Quebec trip won't be easy I'm especially not looking forward to next Fri night but I guess you never know) The only call I didn't like was on Falkenham but other than that the officials let them play very happy about that. By the look of Brodeur's stats, he does not do that every night. He was only drafted because of who his dad is.

Hopefully Drum Wins so some teams pass HFX in the standings. I am sure Ehlers will screw that up though! why would you hope they win? Losing is the worst possible way to gain team chemistry. As it sits they lose 5 players from this squad for sure. 6 if Ehlers makes the jets. You want them playing well together so they come in strong next year for run with out have emptied the cupboards. Were right about one thing though, Ehlers put on a show.

Ehlers' speed is unreal. If you give him the space to get full speed by his blueline, he looks like he is playing on a faster ice surface than everyone else lol. The number of times he can just blow wide or inside on someone is crazy. Combine that with a lethal shot and the guy can almost score at will some times. He could have had 4-5 goals last night easy - too some shots too far out IMO when he could have gotten in closer. If he is back next year, contenders should be ponying up what they can, because the guy can add 1-2 goals to your team by himself.
Meier also has the body language that he has figured this league out now. With two guys chasing him he will calmly make the smart, safe play - and its often a slick pass or great play along the boards.
Brodeur was in the zone last night, reminded me of the Slovakian goalie who just seemed to get a piece of everything when he was hot. Extremely impressive game by the team considering the shots and dominating game control, when you realize we have 1 defenseman who is not a rookie, and not much offense after our first line. Thought Fortier played pretty well, seems like a prime candidate to have his big breakout year next year. Getting smarter with his play every day to go along with natural skill. Gadoury is always good for a few slippery scoring chances. He's had an off year but his skills are still top notch. Big drop going from playing with Drouin on line 1, to playing with different combos of grinders for the most part this year.
Resop still looks pretty good for a rookie. He could turn into a good one the next few years.

Resop can play a bit deep in his net and go down a bit early. Second goal was not his fault at all, but all 3 pucks that beat him went over his shoulder. He's a big goalie, but he can sometimes make himself small by dropping to the butterfly deep in his crease.
