Great game overall. I have to say I love that line of martineau, boucher, smith.
Solid win against basically a Jr A team. Not sure how this team hasn't been moved to quebec yet.
Excited for a solid test tomorrow against a top team.

Great win tonight. I'm assuming as well that we will see Belanger in net tomorrow anainst Rimouski. I thought Jacob Smith played a terrific game tonight, caused some turnovers and have a lot of great chances.

Hoping for a solid 60 min effort against Rimouski tomorrow. Regardless of the final score, I'd love for a passionate 60 min effort. ........ That's what she said.

Only against the Titan but a win is a win. Good for Farrels point totals as well.
As to the comments above :
Smith gives it his all every game that I have seen. He is not going to be that flashy forward but his efforts are nice to see.
Eaglesfan09 - The reason they did not move was because they got new ownership. They were almost finished last year ( maybe the year before ) but a few locals and Couturier bought them from LGM. They must be bleeding chips but the new group has extended their life for a bit longer.
Onward to tomorrow night. Rimouski is not going to be easy.

Just a random quick off topic question.
Next year is most likely our go for the gold year.
The last year comparable to that would have been 2007?
What was our team like the year before that in 2006? I know our records from 06 and this year don't conpare but does anyone see any similarities?
If I'm not mistaken we beat the fog Devils in round 1 and lost to bathurst in 5 games in the 2nd round
How does everyone think the 06 team in February matches up to the current team ?

Well! I must say it was nice to catch a game while I was home this time around. Hopefully we get into the playoffs so I can see some more.
Love how both Hinds and Anderson play. Not the most skilled but they work their hardest every shift. That's the blue collar kind of team we need here in Cape Breton.
I'm not going to say Sullivan is our savour nor is he the solution to our goaltending issues however the kid plays with swag and intensity every game. Watch him congratulate the guys after a goal, watch him pre game. He seems like a goaltender the guys in front of really like to play for. He wasn't tested much last night no, but he still got the W.

Watch him congratulate the guys after a goal, watch him pre game. He seems like a goaltender the guys in front of really like to play for. He wasn't tested much last night no, but he still got the W. The game against Chicoutimi he stopped 42 of 43 shots. He now has a 2.99 GAA AND A 0.901 SAV %. I agree the guys in front seem to really like to play for him. I have seen every game except one and i must say he has come a long way and seems to get better every game. Hinds and Anderson seem to play well with anyone they are put with maybe because they are both two way players who work hard both ways. They also seem to be where the puck is going when they need to be. And did you see how Smith can handle that puck it was just nice to watch. If and when Dumont decides to play Sully for several games in a higher sequence ( More games more often ) than he has it will be interesting to see him keep those numbers (i.e.) GAA and the SAV% . He may be able to be number one in the top 20 goaltenders stat chart. Love to see a local guy make that, and stay there, for our team.

Very happy with the game last night. That's what we should be able to do every game against teams below us. Now time to turn the page and look forward to the game vs Rimouski tonight. Going to guess Belanger in nets tonight. Either way, I feel like who ever starts as long as we play our game. We have a legit chance to win. Hopefully we come out strong and hit them early. Really helps us with momentum

Sullivan was not overly busy last night but made the saves when needed. I have seen just about every game this year plus all of training camp and he is vastly improved. He just seems to be getting better with each game. Hope Dumont rolls with him for awhile, as I said before, kind of hard to ignore the numbers he has put up lately.nothing at all against Belanger, but if he wants the net, let him earn it, good healthy competition. From what I see, Sullivan has earned his shot.

"Kyle is the eighth highest scoring Screaming Eagle in the team’s history and with 18 games left in the regular season, the record of 215 points is within reach. " Wtf are they talking about? 215 points isn't the record, it's 7th place held by Stuart MacRae. Culligan had 284 points which is the record and out of reach.

It's nice to see Kyle get credit for a great season and a very good career as a locally produced hockey player.
It also shows how little attention CTV Atlantic really pays to "Sports" in general.

Eagles tie it up 1-1 after 2 periods.
Monster end to end play by Svechnikov leading to his tying goal. Awesome stuff.
Belanger has come up huge in this game so far.
Lots of emotion on the ice and in the crowd. Not a huge crowd but they've been awesome.
Hopefully keep the game close in the 3rd. Would be nice to come out with a point anyway.
