It's easy to get off topic when discussing the economic conditions and pro sports franchises haha. 1 thing I find is the people going to Saddledome are living in Calgary full time where as the Edmonton ones are people passing through. As long as we're pumping oil out of the ground I would think both teams will be doing just fine financially which says a lot for how bad the Oilers have been.

Thought I might as well throw my two cents worth on the issue. I see two issues, on is the on ice per formance of the team caused by poor management decisions and a nickel and dime operation. Secondly, from a fan perspective and the bang you get for your buck, the experience at center 200 probably ranks last in the Maritimes and although a lot of that is not contolled by the team, it still goes to the overall experience. The concessions at center 200 have to be by far the worst in the Maritimes and I have been to all the rinks in the Maritimes and this arena here pales in comparison to the overall experience at the rink. The concessions here often consist of long lineups and sold out products, a direct result of poor management by rink higher ups,I have stopped using the concessions for that very reason, waiting in long lineups and when they finally get to you, what you are looking for they usually do not have.More than once they have run out of pizza on Sunday afternoons?

www.hockeydb.com/nhl-attendance/att_graph.php?tmi=5136This indicates that the crowds are up over last year (+100 per game for this point versus the whole of last year). Not a huge increase but the jump could rise with some good crowds during the homestretch. It would also broke the streak of at least three years of declines. The Eagles are also 9th in the league in attendance according to the same site, which is right in the middle.
