Very smart addition. It will be great to have an American Scout who has previously played for the organization and can talk about all the pros about coming Halifax. It will only help us going forward if Peters is used effectively.

Are you trying to be intentionally condescending, or do you realize scouting isn't a full time job (or doesn't have to be) and it's possible (very likely) Peters will do this on the side while he does his regular job? And scouts aren't usually recruiters so it's unlikely he will be selling the Halifax program to anyone. He will be sitting in the stands watching.

We cant all be loved by everyone like Lawyers are. Some just have to love what they are doing and be satisfied being low lives. But I see your point, so many players could be much more if they skipped hockey and all became Lawyers.

Well from reading the article he has a wife and family and appears happy in his life and got a chance to help out his former junior team. WIN WIN scenario.

Halifax picked 3 Americans(technically/1 Russian) and most other teams only took two, with many using pick 13 and 14 for this. Even Moncton did not take the numbers they would in the past. As mentioned in the media before the draft, below average year for Americans and the Q.
Halifax mostly picks 2 with one in top 3 most years and especially in a year where high end numbers were down, would appear above average for the Moose.
Step one is done as far as seeing if scouting pays off but it would appear to have on paper. That's based on the teams these players are from and contacts. Verbal comments look more positive than other years in regard to top 3 picks. Perhaps some FA invites come from that direction as well otherwise will have to wait to see who shows in training camp like most years.
Shawinigan took a goalie that is Russian, same age, team, city right after the Moose in that round. Perhaps thinking if one gone another would not be far behind. Can only wonder if that would have been someone the Moose were looking at. They did take 2 goalies in the draft one 6th round, which the Moose tends to do most years, even with Fucale. The later one looked like BPA while having enough goalies already and appears not a target like American Resop last time.
Somewhat related to this is the Import draft. With a player drafted having Russian and English abilities does this increase the chance the Moose find a Russian player to draft and come over.

Dmitri Sokolov... which is wishful thinking on my part for 1) He would be coming over and 2) and him being available for US, YES US!!!!!, at #19.
