Compared to the other Q teams, the Cats still have a large number of players in camp. Most teams are in the high 20s, low 30s. I wonder if this is because Roger Shannon was in charge the first week. I doubt Rumble would still be sitting at 44 at this point. Partly because of Rumble, but I'd say also partly because the Cats don't have as many CEGEP guys as the average Q team. Also because the Cats can afford to keep that many players around unlike certain other teams.

In his article for tomorrow's paper Hodge makes it seem like Beaton will be traded soon and like most assumed the cats will keep the other 4 20s until the end of training camp but trade a defenceman if Sweeney returns.

Crossman has a SORE neck from the hit from behind in yesterday's game against Halifax. He's out for a week, but will be re-examined. Hodge mentions Sebastien Dupre hasn't been released which indicates he will be the backup this season.

I wonder if they will keep an eye on OHL and WHL camps for goaltenders. They could bring another one in around mid September. I assume Rioux will be on waivers tomorrow. Grant is protecting his NCAA, so he'll probably practice with the team for the week and then be cut Sunday. Querry, not sure if they'll play him in any exhibitions...weird, he is a pretty unknown quantity and hasn't played in either of the exhibitions. My guess is Mann-Dixon is the 3rd goalie as AF.

Sorry my english is not good me talk french. McKenna was in camp briefly and left of his own accord to preserve NCAA eligibility. It appears likely that the Cats did not have a roster spot available for him for the 2015/16 season - at this point, it is anyone's guess as to whether or not he will return to try again next year.

Sorry my english is not good me talk french. I think he will come to camp again next year but likely doesn't want to lose his college eligibility. I wouldn't put him in the same category as Dawe when it comes to having to convince him to report. I think it is more a matter of him making the team or not and still having options if he doesn't.
