Nobody really needs radio anymore ... an online feed is all you really need. I have one radio in my house ... beside my bed ... wakes me up in the morning. But I have 3 or 4 devices in my house that can stream online feeds. A lot of Seniors "LOVE" listening to the Road Games .......they don't own a Computer .....nor will they ever own one . Good that you have 3 or 4 devices for streaming the Games ( which you will PAY for ) but remember to try to look at the bigger picture . Sure ... I realize that. But if 1000 listeners change the channel because they want music, when only 200 are tuned into the game (not sure how you even measure that), broadcasting a game for 3 hrs is not a great business decision. While many seniors will get left out, it becomes a much easier product to just run an online feed through the team's website. My own parents are both in their 80s and don't own a computer nor have an internet connection. My Father would rather watch a hockey game on TV ... between 2 teams he doesn't support ... than listen to a game on the radio. I also know many seniors that are very well connected to the online world. I've been using the internet since about 1995, and many of those people that are now seniors were a big part of the work force 20 yrs ago. Many seniors are online. Unfortunately some people get left behind because there is no perfect fix ... and the world moves forward and leaves some behind.

But there must still be enough advertising to support this or else I doubt there'd be much interest. Only issue with a small place like CB is our radio stations, for the most part, are owned by 2 different companies. So if the Eagle won't do broadcasts then neither will the Giant. So all that really leaves is the Max 98.3, AM 1270, and 94.9 radio family to strike an agreement with and they would know that they'd have a bit of an advantage in negotiations without a legit competitor.

Pat McNeil's Twitter still indicates that he's the PBP guy for the Eagles and he did a bunch of tweeting so far during training camp. Take that for what it's worth.
If they don't find a radio partner I would imagine he would still do home games for the online video feed would he not?

You can still sell advertising even if it is just an online feed. Sell enough advertising to pay for his expenses ... and/or put him to work in some other capacity with the team and have him as a fulltime employee on the PR side of the business.

But you need Someone to broadcast and commentate the online feed. And they usually cost money, which I'm sure some groups of people around here wouldn't be willing to pay. I wonder why 1035 weren't interested in renewing. Is Pat not returning ? I thought we were just talking about not having a radio partner. I wasn't thinking about the commentator, just the fact of it being online...who would employ that person to commentate, etc....brain fart.
