Agreed Hal. But he was on with two of the 20s, Carozza and Fiore, whom you would expect to be at or near the top of the team in scoring, and both are doing well this season. Dubois is just not the same kid he was last year.No drive, no grit, no urgency to his game. Last year he was worth the price of admission just to watch him, not so this year.I sure hope he picks up his game.

I certainly wasn't saying it was acceptable .......I guess what I am saying is that if people are still noticing it ....say 4 or 5 games from now ......then it is in fact pretty concerning . The Coach / GM and Dubois himself can say in the Paper and on Radio that he is happy to be back all they want but 2 weeks ago he was quoted as saying he thought he "could" win The Calder Trophy for NHL Rookie of the Year ....so the kid has to be deeply dissapointed with the start of his Pro Career .

He still can win the Calder Trophy... next year
He wasn't going to win it this year anyways....

He's obviously disappointed, Matthews, Laine, Puljujarvi, Tkachuk are all forwards taken in the top 10 that are currently playing in the NHL. I think he sees himself in that top tier of talented forwards and to be back in Major Junior is a kick in the gut.
I don't want to attack Dumont, I've done it enough so has everyone else, but I think a quality coach sits Dubois down and has a conversation with him. You see top draft picks in the NHL return to Junior all the time and good coaches don't let those players get down on themselves.

Fully agree. However, we all saw the way Dumont handled the Cameron Darcy issue and we all know that did not end well. Maybe Columbus will send someone down to talk to him, and that has happened before.Whatever the case, this kid is not putting his best effort into his game and that ultimately hurts him and his team, whoever he is playing with. Sure hope he comes around soon.

It only has weeks to play itself out .....not Months . Once he goes to the WJC Camp , that is most likely the end of his Tour of Duty in Cape Breton anyway .

When he looks left it's not Lazerev he sees ......when he looks right it's not Scvehvnikov he sees.....big difference = BIG ADJUSTMENT ! Not even close to being the reason. He's a star in his own skin, he doesn't need line mates to make him a great player. He's disappointed he's back in the Q, and he knows his weeks here are numbered. That has to weigh heavy on a "KIDS" mind. What's a great way to get back at a coach/gm who he most likely dislikes? Play like crap so you're value goes down a bit before Christmas. Far fetched ? Yeah probably. Impossible? Nahhhh.

Couple things on Dubois:
We've seen this twice in Halifax recently with Drouin and Ehlers. It's a big adjustment coming back to the Q from the NHL, it's disappointing, etc. He'll turn it around, Dubois is not at all unique in having a slow start after being returned to the Q.
The second is I'm not sure Dubois is destined to be traded. He could be, but it would have to be for the right package, obviously...
Blainville would be in the best position. They own Sherbrookes first round pick, and good young players like Crete-Belzile or Joel Teasdale that could be used as futures... and they've shown they want to "go for it" this year.
CHA doesn't have many picks, tho they do have their first, SHAW and RN don't have their firsts... Saint John could possibly make the deal happen? But I don't think they'd be willing to pay what it takes.
It concerns me because Dubois is going to be the biggest-ticket piece, but there will likely be yard sales in Chicoutimi and Gatineau... good players available for probably cheaper...
I don't know, there could be (and probably will be) and entire thread on this.

With Drouin, Tampa officials were in Halifax almost every other week for awhile working with him. Hopefully Columbus will show up from time to time to keep him focused.

Both Mathias laferriere and Jeremy bucheler. Both first round picks who were sent back to midget. Thoughts ?

As long as the prospects, draft picks report and there are no hiccups I'll be happy! I'd love a couple of solid D prospects to go with our two young, high potential goalies but Dumont won't teach them anything anyway.

If he's not reporting to the Armada, chances are he's not reporting anywhere. I think the Armada are certainly in the best position to "go for it" at Christmas and spend.
