One guy I wanna say played above and beyond expectations was Michael Joly, for a player coming to a new team I don't think any of us could have expected 44 goals in 52 games, and that isn't even counting the assists.
I hope Joly can earn a contract somewhere because it's hard to believe he isn't better than most mid-low level AHL players.

You gotta fell bad for Leblanc. The guy pretty much carried our defense this whole series. I really hope CLB signs him. The guy deserves to play pro.

LeBlanc did everything he was asked and more, whenever the guys scored he was trying to fire up the bench, doing anything and everything he could. Heart and soul type player who has the on ice skill to back it up.

Some Interesting Comments on Eastlink
- John Hanna making reference to the lack of Defensive Structure .....All Season .
- No Stud Defencemen , trade Deschamps for Fiore but replaced him with more of a Offensive Defencemen (Bisson)
- Belanger lacks Heart , his Body Language says he is not a Battler ....Jessiman is small but is a Fighter .
- Never went "all in "..."went up to their knees"..by not getting a Top Tier Goalie or a Shut Down Defenceman .
- The Fans called for Pascal Vincent's Head for Years and it really set them back when he left...are they in the same situation now ?
- Saint John Organization has a Winning Mentality .....Cape Breton Organization has a Losing Mentality .
- Shane Bowers Rights "might" have got you Matt Murphy ?
- Had the Top Goalie in the Q ( Chase Marchand ) and Gave him away for Nothing !
- Trading for Olivier LeBlanc cost us Joe Veleno .
- Anything less than the 3rd Round would be considered a Major Dissapointment .
* There were others but these are the ones that hit home the most .

Didn't Saint John also offer two picks in the top 10 for Bowers. Interestingly Bowers has played 56 games in the USHL this season and has 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points.

Abbott is making some great points on Eastlink. Move Bowers for a top Defenceman, make a move for Brassard from Halifax or Guidon from Rimouski for a couple of draft picks. Bite the bullet and trade the kids who won't report rather then hold on to them to prove a point and have a first round pick and a 2nd round playoff exit to show for it! . Brassard was a 20. He is done I think they were just pointing out that a lot of people around the league had questions about Belanger carrying CB on a long playoff run. Such as media, CB fans, fans around the league in general, and some other teams around the league were probably calling Dumont as well asking if he was looking to upgrade. Brassard and Guindon were both 20's I believe, maybe the idea was move Belanger and whatever for one of them. I thought Brassard was solid for Halifax last year in the playoffs. He could have been an upgrade? After tonight's performance I'd personally think so.

Just a couple notes as I read through the last 5 pages or so lol
1. They did attempt to trade Bowers during the Christmas Trade Period the problem was he would not leave Waterloo during the season and nobody is going to want to take a gamble on him possibly deciding to just stay the course or go the NCAA route.
2. Fiore IMO deserved more ice time I thought he was on of the most dangerous forwards on the ice for either side. I would have thought maybe Joly with the Russians and Fiore with Dubois and Carozza but that's just me.
3. I expected more of a push back in the 3rd period ... The coach was willing to pull the goaltender with over 5 minutes left but for much of the 3rd period was only sending in a single fore checker which kinda surprised me given the circumstances.

I had heard during the trade period that a Bowers deal had been worked out with Cavan Fitzgerald coming to Cape Breton as part of it but that Dumont got into a big argument with Bowers' father and killed the deal. I guess we'll never know for sure but Fitzgerald certainly would have helped!

Do you honestly think the 19 yr olds will be in the Coast? Bishop could be back. Signed or whatever he won't make it through the first 5 games without an injury. Russians will be back in Europe. Fiore will be back as a 20. Carrozza will be CIS in not back as a 20 Svech and Grand Rapids already committed him to playing in the A next year

Could have had Cavan Fitzgerald as a Free Agent 3 Years ago but Bearcat Joseph told the Organization that he was a JR A Player at best so don't waste a spot ........that is a 100 % Fact .

I had heard during the trade period that it was a done deal that Fitzgerald was coming to the Eagles but this is the first I heard about Dumont and Bowers father having a disagreement and Dumont scrapped the deal, maybe that's what happened. All in all, a pretty disappointning season, what a shame to lose like that with all that talent. I guess all the comments, even on the French blog, about Flynn outcoaching Dumont were more than just comments. Even the Eastlink commentators during the intermission were quite critical about how disorganized and disinterested the Eagles were playing.Time for something to be done with this organization.

Maybe the Eagles quit on their coach? That's always a possibility.

I'd say he lived up to the expectations for sure, but nobody played beyond any when the games really mattered. He's deadly from the blueline in but the rest of his game is what's kept him from playing pro to this point. Definitely will get an AHL contract from someone. Our best 2 players all series were 2 guys we picked up this year in Joly and Fiore.
