Would enjoy seeing a video of it. Goal was given to Fortier, which means Nico didn't touch it with his stick. Wasn't surprised it was goal with how long the review took. I will look it back but it was distinctly showing #13 swinging that puck. He was swinging at it, but as BLT said, the goal was given to Fortier, so Hischier must not have touched the puck. At the very least it was inconclusive, so call on the ice would stand.

I know that it seems Halifax's webcast is one of the grainiest out there... doesn't seem like very good quality at all compared to some. Hopefully it's better for the replays in the rink. One thing though, that would be the off-ice officials making that call and not the on-ice official. If it was that close, I don't expect the referee on the ice to call the high-stick. He has a second to make the call and no benefit of replay.

I thought Raphael Blais played very well in the pre-season and note that he was cut late (after the team pictures were taken). I was under the impression that he was likely the Moosehead backup of the future (2017/18) but I checked Elite Prospects last week and he apparently hasn't played anywhere this season (?!). Nothing to suggest that Kirklin Allen is ready for Q duty (6 GP in Maritime Junior) but perhaps Summerside's starter (Hfx native and Newbridge alumni Matt Williams) should be on the Moose radar, if he isnt on some Q teams protected list?
Does Cam really give guaranteed contracts to 9th round draft picks?! (ex. Americans Resop and Jones)
Assuming that Gravel recovers quickly from his possible injury, the Moose are, or perhaps should be, at the stage where they might consider pulling "a Fucale" and start Gravel virtually every night. Frankly, there is nothing I have seen that suggests Alexis is the type to implode with increased duty. On the other hand the Mooseheads fan base is on the verge of that and the message I'm receiving is that the Moose hockey management has to change course/philosophy re the handling of its goaltenders.
Interesting that goaltending is a hot topic in most other centres in our division. While it has been a week or so since I checked the blogs, clearly two of our competitors (against whom we scored 7 and 10 goals against in very recent games) have had goaltending concerns. Also Moncton recently turfed their very expensive overager earlier this month and even Saint John Dog Pounders are wondering if their goaltending tandem is strong enough for a long President's Cup run. Only the Eagles don't appear do be in a panic or concern mode and their roster features the youngest tandem in the league.

I really liked Blais in the pre season. I can't see the Moosehead's going with two guys that young.

That's why it took like 8 minutes to review. Also the refs dont make that call, it's the video goal judge that makes that call. And they said it was 55 for Bathurst who hit it in. That's why Fortier got the goal.

Lots of complaints on the goalies.
But this is a rebuilding team that just scored 10 goals in a game. Sure the team gave up 11, but this team wasn't suppose to be this offensive and is still a very young team.

Well things won't look too promising if Gravel isn't able to play the next few games and Monihan is suspended for at least one game and possibly two after being involved in a fight after the game ended.

Correction- just complaints on ONE of our goalies, and it is NOT our 16 year rookie goaltender. It is our 19 year old goaltender who is on his way to bring the worst in franchise history that is getting all the heat.

It's what happens when you take 4:3 SD and stretch it to 16:9 because you're Halifax and you still run the webcast through your old, standard definition video board at centre ice. Second worst webcast next to Drummondville's.

Resop seems well-liked by his teammates one way or the other. Guess the comments today were pretty rough to prompt this.

Where's Jack Bauer when you need him to call people out for shitting on a 19 year old kid. Adults on this board forget that Resop is only 19 years old and is more than likely being harder on himself than any wanna-be-hockey player on these boards can be! Calling a child "garbage" is absolutely uncalled for IMO.

5.10 GAA, .832 SVP ....
I've already walked back saying Resop, as a person, is garbage ( funny how some people on this board can't fucking read) but I'm not walking back saying Resop's performance in nets this year, for the most part, has been complete and utter garbage.
