Every year a stacked team gets swept in round 1? Has a top 4 or 5 team ever been swept in round 1? Round 2 tends to be where bigger upsets happen I would think. VD last year, Wildcats at least once 2006-2007 and a couple of years ago, Chi has 2005-2006, Cape Breton has once I think 2009-2010 or twice.... maybe not always 4 but 5 and not even 6 or 7. It happens every year. It will happen again this year. A strong CB went out in 2009-10 because they had to face a stacked Moncton team in Rd 1 ... due to the odd playoff alignment. Moncton went on to win the Prez Cup that year ... and faced four teams in that playoff run that had accumulated 87 pts or more in the Reg season.

and the league is better off for it in my opinion having 1-2 teams far superior to everyone else is pretty boring and anti climactic Agreed. As special as it was to watch our (Mooseheads) championship run, it was extremely anti climactic. We were never really challenged in any series, including the Memorial Cup. I had more fun as a fan watching our team the year before and year after, despite neither of them winning anything. Halifax's third line that year could've easily been a decent teams first line lol

but the decision ultimately rested on the player and his family. The League and team respect their decision et would like to wish Antoine the best of luck.Obviously the Drakkar didn't respect his decision or they wouldn't have forced the league to step in. "Good luck doing what you want to do now that we can't force you to play for us". Does Baie-Comeau get compensation? Who has the responsibility here? Is it Rimouski for trading a player that may not report? Donaghey and Kennedy were similar situations.... except the teams involved were good enough to accommodate the player. I'm sure Rimouski would want to compensate the Drakkar to maintain a good relationship. Must be tougher when there's a player involved in the deal.

Except that player quit hockey to focus on his studies, so it may just be a matter of returning the picks at the draft. Link
