Nice start for the Boys tonite . I thought collectively as a whole they all played well . Hart in nets was a little shaky but it's early . There should be no problem rolling all 4 of those lines throughout the Tournament as they seem at least for now , very balanced .

Nice Move Pierre Luc.................that should seal it . That's the trashy part of his game we started to see last year. He likes to be a dick.

I think TC can play a lot better, not sure if it was nerves or not being prepared but they were not sharp. that being said, scoring chances were pretty even.
Goaltending in the big concern...

I have watched a lot of hockey and I dont think I have ever seen an assist from the ref like tonight. (Although I give the Toad credit for a lot of assists against the Moose). Pretty unlucky.
Having said that we better pick up our game, they look terrible. I am glad we were not playing the Swiss.

That was a different team. I think Dom gave them shit after the first. Chabot is a beast. What a goal!

Should Ducharme be Poking the Bear ? Dumbest quote to come from a Canadian coach in a long time. Completely not at all necessary given the play of some of his players in this tournament which isn't at all inspiring any confidence among the fans. I kind of hope Sweden wins because clearly our issues as a team are not only player related. There's an arrogance coming from the top on down that's allowing some of our players to believe their own hype.

If it was Sweden's coach saying that it would be played over and over and over and TSN would make them out villains.

I think Sweden is getting a lot of respect but nobody in their division is in the final 4 ... so they had a bit of a free ride to the semis.
I think Ducharme's comments were meant to deflect a little heat off of his team and onto Sweden. We will see if it worked ... or blows up in his face.

I listened to the TSN crew on this and they seemed to think that it was planned. Dom is a coach who does not go off half cocked. He thinks and plans what he says, It is how he got the job Halifax. If you ever watched an interview with Dom, and I have watched many, he is a smart man. He is not a hotass who goes off half cocked. He thinks and plans. You hope Sweden wins? Move to Sweden. His comments where to motivate his players in that Sweden is not unbeatable. Time will tell.

Whatever the formula last night it seems to have worked. Hart played great in relief after Ingram gave up two cookies.
Canada forecheck was great.
Not sure if they can duplicate it vs the US who is deeper, but it should be a tight one. Having lost one sidedly in the first game might be an edge for US, they might think it will be easier than it should.

But we should be above giving our competition bulletin board material in a tournament full of teenagers that we traditionally dominate. I'm quite fine here in Canada and am not obligated to blindly support anything simply because my country produces it. We played well for 50 minutes last night as a full team. That's the most we've played as a team the entire tournament. If will take a minimum of 60 minutes of the same effort to be in a position to win the game tonight. Hopefully he can finally get that kind of effort out of this team.
