10-7 vote to move forward. Just not at the original location. Good news for fans of this stadium project.

Long way to go but at least we are going in the right direction. IMO. Definitely. I wouldn't be a season seat holder but considering its a summer sport I could see me take in a game or 2 per season while the weather is good with playoff games being intriguing when the time comes. I have some buddies who like me are more into the NFL then the CFL but with a somewhat local team would have more interest. And we're used to the drive to see anything anyway. And this opens up more potential long term for other events like music festivals and things that can utilize the stadium. 99% of those vocally against it think this means less doctors so it's really hard to take the publics opinion at face value with something like this. I think that assuming the bottom doesnt fall completely out of the team due to poor management this has potential to work out really well for the area and develop a bit more regional pride that doesn't really exist now with anything else.

Apparently, CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie suggested during the CFL telecast this evening one of the venues they are looking at for a stadium in Halifax is the Halifax Wanderers Grounds, where the soccer team Halifax Wanderers FC play. Parking would be a mess; parking in Scotia Square would be too far. The current temporary stadium only holds about 6,500, which would have to be added upon.

Not sure how they are going to squeeze 20,000 seats and a CFL size field into that area. It is not big enough. Imo. Even if the Wanderers want to increase their seating that would be tricky too. Is 6,500 seats enough for the Wanderers to continue to sustain things? You would think they would want more fans at their games.

In terms of logistics it would be difficult; though the site would be interesting from a historical perspective. Overall though, I doubt that area would be able to squeeze it in. I don't follow the soccer team to know whether they can stay at the Wanderers Grounds and be sustainable long term; I don't follow the CEL to know what it's economics are. Ideally, they would build a stadium somewhere where both teams would play in. Where to build it has been the $64 question for about the last 40 years.

Yes, from a pure attendance standpoint it should be enough in the medium term. Once a permanent stadium is here with more amenities, proper concessions, washrooms, premium seating, luxury boxes etc, they should be able to charge more per ticket as well. 7K to 10K capacity soccer-specific stadium is probably the sweet spot for CPL.

Probably an idea of the past to allocate space for cars.

The concept of having a team in PEI is interesting but this isn't a serious proposal.
