With 3 on 3 overtime, I think it's time they ditch the shootout. A couple reasons being shootouts losing their excitement, it'll make 3 on 3 OT much more exciting, and realistically with a 3 on 3 format, what are the chances of overtime games going past 10 minutes?
Your thoughts?

I hate the shootout as exciting as it is, I love OT so I'd be all for that especially since my Sens are so good in OT!

I don’t care if they remove the shoot out or not, but I’d like to see them get rid of the point for losing in OT. It’s the only professional team sport where the loser gets rewarded. The reason they started giving out the OT loss is teams would play for the tie. Well that is out the window now with the S/O

I really think hockey should adopt the international 3 points for a win system. Reward the teams for winning in regulation. Having the shootout is great for the casual fans, and having 3 points for a regulation win puts less weight on it.

For International hockey ... and NA regular season hockey ... I don't have a problem with a shootout in non-elimination games. So NHL regular season ... no big deal ... and Round Robin tournament games ... no problem. But once a team is facing elimination it should not be decided by a shootout.

No shootouts in the playoffs period. Can you imagine game 7 of the Presidents Cup final coming down to a shootout?
