Reporting that 14 are dead ... 14 injured. Devastating news.

Absolutely heart breaking. My condolences to the families of the players and staff that were on the bus.

I have been trying to process that tragedy all night. It's terrible. And I have seen it b4 I drive our Maritime roads every week. It really puts things of life in perspective. All our petty likes and dislikes such as when we are being critical of a team, coach, mgmt, official or other poster all dont seem to matter in the bigger picture.

Absolutely devastating.
You take for granted every time these players go on a road trip that they arrive and return safe.
When I first heard about it I didn't think it was going to be a big deal, I mean, they're in a bus what's the worst that can happen I thought? I know it seems naive looking back, I still can't wrap my head around this.
Sad day for the jr. hockey community and the hockey community at large. I wish the best for the survivors and the families/communities of everyone involved, it's not going to be easy to cope with this.

This shook me hard. Saw a picture of the surviving players laying next to each other in their beds, I am lost for words.

Tonight, the Humboldt Broncos will be back on the ice as they play their home opener against the Nipawin Hawks. I believe three players are returning from last season's team, but one won't play yet as he's still recovering.
Best of luck to Humboldt as they come into a new season after massive tragedy only a few months earlier. A very emotional time for Humboldt fans & players, and everyone across Canada & the entire world.
