his cap hit at only 6.8 million would be a steal compared with either Kane or JVR another good acquisition in this off season would be Pacs if the Habs decided to move him I think he has one season left at around 5.5 million and he should be able to score 30+

I think he makes sense for teams who need scoring but might not have the cap space for JVR. But it's hard to weight $5.5 salary plus giving up 2-3 young assets and picks vs just signing JVR to a premium when you're likely needing to commit to Pacioretty if you're giving up that much for him and his contract will be similar to what JVR signs for.

The cap hit is only 4.5M, really easy to fit for a team up against the cap.

Interesting take...

More The Anaheim Mighty Ducks protected 35-year-old role player Antoine Vermette and 30-year-old Andrew Cogliano over 22-year-old Shea Theodore, who now has 37 points in 77 games.

one helluva entertaining cup final game i think it might have been the best game one i can remember since salary cap era... Man I hope this style of play and the overall way that team was built loosens up some of these GM's sitting by for years without doing anything but waiting for players to develop. I don't think anyone really has much emotional attachment to this series now but like you I thought the overall entertainment level was just off the charts in a league where we're basically telling youngsters that you need to play boring to win....or can't play with a teammate with talents as good as yours because you need balance to win which is a big issue I have with Babcock in Toronto. Gallant coaches his team to take away the other teams strengths then counter attack with speed and relentlessness. What a breathe of fresh air to see that this time of year vs a 2-1 3-2 game of chicken where at the end of it nothing happens and we rip the guy who made 1 mistake as much as we celebrate the guy who got that last goal.

Otherwise they could have kept 4 d-men... even if they protect 4 dmen it doesn't change the fact they didn't choose Vermette or Cogliano over Theodore... therefore making your interesting take not interesting or at all true anyhow they had a deep defense they were going to lose one.... they didn't want to lose Manson or Lindholm

Another solid game tonight. Not quite as wide open as game 1 but a lot of entertainment
Sounds like Kuznetsov has a hand injury. Huge loss if he can't play going forward.
