Recently I watched a youtube video by Philip Defranco who if others don't know covers various news topics and stories on his youtube channel, recently he's started doing deeper dive videos on certain topics one of his latest being on the NCAA and the abuse student athletes face.
I thought it was a very interesting look at a dark side of collegic sports largest body and wanted to share the video.

I have a very good friend of the family who went down to Maine to play baseball (pitcher). They didn't care much for his health as he had to pitch whenever they wanted him to and often on no rest. His shoulder is still screwed up from it. He couldn't pitch in his final year so he lost his scholarship and had to pay to finish his degree.
I didn't watch the video yet but will later. Thanks.

If the NCAA cared about students the billions made off of sports like Football would pay for tuition for all students attending some of these schools.
It's insane that a coach can be paid millions to handle kids who will be thrown out of school if they let the wrong person buy them a cheeseburger or a pair of shoes while they're forced to struggle on very little to no money in some cases with the promise of riches coming after they're done school.
And because there's such a short shelf life for students there's no way it changes as it would take an entire generation of athletes and students getting together and refusing to do things like play National Championship games in order to force the change that is needed to make sure the kids making the millions for everyone else aren't left out in the cold the minute their athletic talent doesn't measure up to professionals.
