working from home as best i can but still going into the office occasionally to grab files and check and return voice messages haven't had any symptoms .... noone i know has either have done a few group facetime chats and going for walks daily really hate isolation tho I hear you! Social distancing and isolation are not my friends, but doing OK. have to go in to work every morning for physical part of my job (have to be there to do it), but working from home after that, for the most part.

My Family and Friends are all well, I work in an essential service so I'm still going to work and for walks around the block other than that I'm self-isolating and social distancing, I only live with my brother so it's not too hard. Staying connected to family and friends via the telephone and I have an iPad so can do FaceTime, Skype etc.

My family is doing well, keeping away from others as much as possible. Me & my wife haven't shown any symptoms of the virus and other than dropping a few meals off to my in-laws, we've kept ourselves at home 95% of the time.
My hands are getting pretty dried and cracked from all of the hand washing, although it hasn't stopped me from washing them constantly.
A couple of pluses from the isolating so far: 1. My house is super clean and organized (Spring cleaning came early). We've re-organized our kitchen pantry and cleaned out an old "craft" closet and made it into a huge spice rack with shelf space for all of our kitchen appliances.
2. Although we've always cooked at home (and are pretty good cooks), we are now trying new recipes that we are searching online. To prevent us from ending up on "My 600lb Life", I've even began running on our treadmill again.
I have been off work the past 2 weeks, but I'm scheduled back to work on Tuesday (Work on a Ferry between NS & NL). I'm a little concerned with being on board with more people than I've seen in the past two weeks, but our company has been pretty good at keeping us informed with the precautions that they are implementing (and changing daily) as to screening of crew and passengers. Luckily, I don't work in direct contact with passengers other than riding the elevators (which I hope to avoid). Should be an interesting two weeks.
Keep safe everyone, social distance, and wash your hands.

I have 2 young boys and my family business is currently really slow due to the Northern Pulp and other lumber mills shutting their doors. So in a way my 4 and 2 year old are driving me nuts but it’s good to spend some down time with them and watching them grow. my wife is a nurse and also pregnant with our 3rd child so she hasn’t been going in for a couple weeks to. We’ve been thinking in moving our family to Northern Ontario so I can continue my line of work in forestry. I was supposed to be up there this week talking to mills and lining up work but that isn’t happening for the foreseeable future. Anyways none of us are showing any symptoms and we haven’t gone crazy yet. Hopefully this will all be over with soon although it doesent look that way. Stay safe everyone.

Home now since end of February. All my work travel between March-May cancelled once work decided to tell everyone to try and work from home.
I am used to being out somewhere every 2nd week. So it's a definite break from the norm.
I do want to throw this out there. All the hotels I normally stay in Sydney, Moncton, Charlottetown, Saint John, Fredericton that are busy year round are currently totally shut down until May or not taking reservations until after April 22.
These are major places everyone is familiar with. Usually full. They are down to 10% ish capacity and have decided to close completely and the staff are out until things come back. And some of the ones I stay at are frequented by some of the Q teams that come through but every event is postponed, and with elective appointments canceled and all us business travellers home bound their business demand tanked pretty sharp.
Normal may be a while away right now.

I didn’t post this when it happened but I’ll let everyone know now. My son had to be tested. He’s only 2. He had a high fever my wife was worried and called 811. As soon as she said high fever they said he had to be tested. All of that is not really a big deal. Here’s where I at least shack my head. On the call they said okay he has to be isolated from the family. (I reiterate he’s 2!) don’t know what they expect us to do in this case throw him in a room alone and occasionally throw a plate of food in for him? Anyways my wife took him to get tested the next day and we didn’t hear back till the day after that. In this time he was supposed to be isolated and if someone knows how to do that with a 2 year old not fully potty trained I should add, please let me know. I’m sure it’s a million dollar idea too.
Here’s the kicker so everyone hears this he and only he had to be isolated until we found out the results. There’s 4 of us in the house hold and I’m still going into work. Think about that. Now I did however call into work and told them what was up and told them I will not be in. By the protocols the health advisories lay out I was aloud to go to work and not say anything until we were told it was positive. Think about that.
Long story short it came back Negative everyone is fine and once you get back the negative you can go back to work. If however it came positive the whole house was assumed to have it. I am back to work and no problems. But the reason I did decide to post this is to full out scare people. People can be out there that have been in contact with someone waiting on the test results when they should be isolating themselves.
Once again stay safe. And if your from Nova Scotia “stay the blazes home”!

Glad to hear he's alright Statsman.
My girlfriend's test came back negative, which only raises more questions about what's making her feel sick.

I am very glad that as trying and tense as the situation was that it came back Negative and you can move forward as slow as that pace is during these trying times . Take Care .

Glad to hear he's alright Statsman. My girlfriend's test came back negative, which only raises more questions about what's making her feel sick. First things first ....She tested Negative for The Corona Virus and that is a good thing ......as far as feeling sick ....could it not be one of the various strands of Influenza ? ( lots of overlapping symptoms with less emphasis on Fever and shortness of breath ) .....could it be a Real Bad Cold ? I wish both of you the best .

Glad to hear he's alright Statsman. My girlfriend's test came back negative, which only raises more questions about what's making her feel sick. Thank you for the kind words. As to your girlfriend and her well being I’m no doctor and not going to say I know anything but I have heard the flu is still kicking around with all of this too. But along the lines of not being a doctor I have a question, is she a live in girlfriend that you two are quarantine together with? If the answer is yes the 2nd question is she mostly SICK in the MORNING? Read between the lines there, or don’t. Just saying.

And if your from Nova Scotia “stay the blazes home”! The real scary thing is that before they mandated the 14 day quarantine when travelling between provinces, there was people that I know coming home on flights from other parts of Canada that had their flights full of people coming back from the US/overseas in some countries that at the time had been hit pretty hard. Now you can’t tell me that it wasn’t absolutely flawed to set guidelines where the people travelling between provinces didn’t have to isolate despite being in confined spaces (often times seated right next to and in close proximity) with these people... luckily the people I knew recognized that it didn’t make sense for them to not have to self-isolate and they did even before it was mandatory but how many people didn’t? Now I know it’s easy to sit here after the fact and critique the decisions being made so I won’t do that, I will mention though that there has been some head scratching decisions I’ve seen from our governments both federally and at the provincial level that didn’t make sense at the time and still doesn’t. They’ve done IMO a fantastic job of handling it though given the circumstances, decisions in a time of crisis like this are not easy. I personally know I’m glad we’re here instead of a little further south..

I personally know I’m glad we’re here instead of a little further south.. I’m not a person who has a political party I usually go with who best suits me at the time. I feel that needs to be added before I say I agree 100% with you on McNeil and Trudeau both are handling this almost perfectly. The only hiccup was the whole the liberals need full say on tax’s thing they tried to slip through. I feel like McNeil has been an angry dad at time instead of a politician who tries to keep everyone happy. And to be honest it’s what was needed when he was that way. Now I do get when people say but it’s a lot of money being given out what’s going to happen in the future. I get it and those who say that aren’t wrong but what’s the alternative? It’s what needs to be done. I will add this I’m happy it’s not me making those decisions too. That’s a lot of pressure and responsibility to take on.

Keep in mind that we as a culture, have not been through this in recent times, and so our "leaders" and their advisors are working their way though this as best they can. The whole world is still learning about COVID-19 and how it transfers and survives. I can cut them some slack if they something two weeks ago and then contradict it today. This is all new for all of us.
