Welsh is a big add for SMU he was always stoning Halifax, SMU got a good one there going to be on top again next season. How likely do you guys think it is the AUS starts in October? probably more likely than Sept.

How likely do you guys think it is the AUS starts in October? probably more likely than Sept. There’s no point in even placing a likelihood on it because it’s a constant moving dynamic and we don’t even know if schools will be open/how they’ll operate come September... sports may not even be on the table.

Voyer signed a 2 year AHL deal with the Bruins... Doesn’t look like he will ever step foot at UdeM

Voyer signed a 2 year AHL deal with the Bruins... Doesn’t look like he will ever step foot at UdeM That's a big loss, he would have been a stud in CIS.

Voyer signed a 2 year AHL deal with the Bruins... Doesn’t look like he will ever step foot at UdeM Question: When you sign an "AHL deal", are you signing with the parent club or are you signing with the AHL club. Does the parent club actually own your rights or are you more of a free agent ? Jeremy McKenna has signed an AHL deal with the Toronto Marlies. Does that mean Toronto Maple Leafs own his rights ?

You’re only signing with the AHL club. You’re a free agent to sign with any NHL team that wants you.. McKenna is only owned by the Marlies and free to sign with an NHL team if they come calling. Now there are some exceptions to the rule on AHL deals where you aren’t a free agent but those aren’t that common. Take Hunter Drew for example, he was on an AHL only deal but not a free agent because the Ducks still owned his draft rights. For 99% of the guys though, if they sign an AHL deal, they’re free agents as far as NHL teams are concerned.
