Has anyone been following the NHL Playoffs...I've hardly watched it this year I find as you get older priorities change and I just can't bring myself to watch hockey in July other than maybe a period here or there. I'm following online as best as I can the Series is currently 1-1 with Game 3 being played tonight who do you think is going to win the Stanley cup? Tampa or Dallas? I think Tampa is going to win it they had an excellent season, and just got Stamakos back tonight.

Stamkos is a major issue with TB going forward, he can't seem to stay healthy and makes a boatload of money.
With them needing cap gymnastics...5.3M in cap room with only 15 players signed plus Cirelli Cernak and Sergachev as RFA plus Maroon Shattenkirk and Bogosian as UFA, they will need to shed some pretty big pieces to keep their RFA's at least. Could Stamkos and his 8.5M be part of that?
He has a NTC but so do 8 other guys...

But the good thing is if he cant play he will be on LTIR long term which keeps other options available. The biggest issue facing TBL this year like every team is flat cap. Any guys signed will have pay go up and make it harder to sign guys.

Any guys signed will have pay go up and make it harder to sign guys. I don't understand what you mean by "waive him and eat half the contract"? If they waive him to the minors they save 1.05M or thereabouts, they can trade him and retain half, though they can probably move him without doing that. if it was one permanent injury, LTIR would give them relief, but it's usually a sequence of different injuries. I think by retaining 1-1.5M they could easily move him and get back a pick and a prospect. It's a tough one because he was pretty healthy the two years before(160 games). I think they will try and move Killorn and Johnson to keep their RFA's...Killorn has a 16 team no trade list and Johnson a full NTC so it won't be easy, especially if they go to a higher tax state/province... Vasilevskiy and Point are the only two big contracts with no NTC, they are two of the 4 most valuable guys on thew roster with Hedman and Kucherov.

So Cote was on the Norfolk team that won the Calder cup in 2012? His coach there was Jon Cooper. And he probably made a great impression to be brought into the staff on the NHL team.

Yearly team is in cap he’ll post from Billy
They’ll be fine .... and they’ve got a cup so even if they are forced to move someone they otherwise wouldn’t want to it’s worth it
