Farewell to one of my fave Pats players ever, he may have been small in stature and I remember when he was drafted as a QB in the 7th round in 2009 and thinking why are they drafting a 5'10" QB even at the end of the draft. I got my answer later on that year when he became a punt return/kick return demon and he was mentioned as being a Wes Welker clone.. but he became so much more as he was Welker but clutch.
The Pats second dynasty doesn't happen if not for Edelman.. the comeback against Seattle in 2015 from being down 10 in the 4th quarter.. he gets the 1st down on a 4th down play after taking an absolutely devastating hit from Kam Chancellor over the middle and not only doesn't go down or drops the ball but he stays up and gains even more yards after getting the first down. The comeback for the ages against Atlanta in 2017 was kept alive by him making the catch off the tip and keeping that drive to tie it up setting up the OT TD, I said to my daughter who took her Edelman jersey with her to Australia when she moved that we were winning right there and then.. that catch was karma making up for having two catches going against us against the Giants. And of course in 2019 Edelman was Super Bowl MVP in a game where there wasn't much offence.
It sucks that he has to retire but he said that he would go until the wheels fell off, it is amazing that he came back from the torn ACL in the 2017 preseason as well as he did.

It was third down and he was marked down but what a catch to keep a drive going especially when you can see he was concussed on that play because Chancellor was basically a linebacker playing secondary and the integral member of Seattle's legion of boom.
EDIT - from this moment on Edelman doesn't remember the rest of this game and he caught the game winning TD which was saved by one of the most shocking SB endings with Malcolm Butler making the interception at the goal line.

NFL draft starts tonight and there was a report today that states that Aaron Rodgers wants out of Green Bay. That's what they are saying . Making tons of Money there but when they drafted QB Jordan Love last year and then when they took the Ball out of his hands in the Playoffs this Year .....don't think he ever got over it ? .....but like AROD declaring his opt out during the World Series .....he / his camp ...Break their Silence on Draft Day ? ...Let the next Group have their Night ....Selfish ? .....Looks that way ....just Shitty Timing .

Surprise ........Surprise...........Reports are ..it is about.....$$$$$.....he wants to be the Highest Paid Player in The Game .....5 years - 250 Million are the Reports .....he is the MVP of the League. He is not looking very good in this as they gave a list of things, the Organization has done over the last little while to keep him happy , getting rid of The Head Coach , apparently getting his input into Assistants giving him a Contract extension .......that unfortunately didn't include the Clause that it would automatically be tore up and replaced by one that guarantees him being the Highest Paid Player in the NFL until he retires , making 33.5 Million a year is one thing but only being the 5th Highest paid is another . I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it is /was about the Almighty Dollar ........Ego Aside of Course .

Adam Schefter is one of the sources, very well respected NFL guy.

I’ve seen those reports, I meant the ones about him wanting 250 million and a whole bunch more money, I haven’t seen Schefter or anyone else that’s a real respected source say that but I may just have missed it also.

I don't think it's about money or just money, I think there are a few factors at play here.
1) GB drafting a QB in the first round in 2020 instead of getting Rodgers what he wanted as far as weapons go.
2) the way the last game went with kicking the FG instead of going for it on 4th down which was 100% the way to go.
3) I think he really wants to move to a west coast team as he recently got engaged to Shaileine Woodley, actress, and he grew up in California as well.

I'm mildly surprised nothing went down last night. With SF taking lance 3rd overall and paying a boatload for the pick, that pretty much writes them off. that would have made a lot of sense before the draft. LV is a definite option. Rams have Stafford. Chargers have Herbert. Arizona has Murray.

As a Pats fan I'm happy with drafting Mac Jones at #15 and not having to trade up to get him; he looked ecstatic at getting drafted by the Pats, he wasted no time in going up on stage to meet Goodell and get his jersey and hat.

Jones is very Brady like in terms of style unlike Fields and Lance who are super mobile. He's more of a cerebral type.
