what is the wilds? i got prime at christmas time for free shipping and to see the Borat movie..... but have not found anything else aside from goliath that interested me at all People compare is to Lost but I didn't watch Lost so not sure on that. Basically a group of girls survive a plane crash and are stranded on an Island in the Pacific Ocean. With the story being told from their perspective after they have been rescued.

I'm in that stretch with a 2 year old daughter where it is increasingly more difficult to find the time for sports. I might have watched 3 periods of World Junior Hockey... I usually watch every Canada game and most games that involve Mooseheads. The Leafs may ice the best team they've iced in years, but I don't know if I'll get the time to watch them. I'm the last person on Earth that hasn't seen the US version of The Office, so my wife and I are binging that on Netflix before the possibility of its removal. Watched one episode of The Queen's Gambit, and was surprised by how dark it was. I'll take Steve's recommendation and stick with it. I'm treading water at my limits in Online Poker, stuck between 1x and 2x my initial deposit amount for years now. Could be worse I suppose, but needing to commit to study off the table in order to improve, and trying to find the time for that is challenging. Streaming poker personalities on Twitch is always good for a laugh, and learning a bit there as well. Found out that with my Amazon Prime account, I can subscribe to any one streamer on Twitch for free. Good way to support someone whose content you enjoy, and take money out of Bezos's pocket at the same time. i binged The Office early on in the pandemic as I too had not seen a single episode prior..... well worth the time investment Queens Gambit is good..... its not as good as the critics make it out to be IMO... but it is good online poker is a farce lol but it passes time ........ good luck with studying it if you choose to..... i will gladly resume playing live for fun and keep the online active for winter nights or storm days lol

Same for me ... superhero stuff is a no go for me. I read a few of the Bosch novels but didn't really like them enough to continue, so haven't watched the Bosch series. I am reading a Connelly book now ... part of the Lincoln lawyer series, and Bosch appears in almost everyone of those books. On prime I watched Jack Ryan (2 seasons) and it was very good. Also watched the worlds toughest race which is a doc but very interesting. On Netflix ... the Queen's Gambit was very good. My wife got me to watch Bridgerton and it was okay but not something I'd recommend to a guy ... watch it with your significant other so you get Brownie points and can later say " ... but I watched Bridgerton with you". I watched Yellowstone and loved it. can't remember if it is 3 seasons now or four seasons, but I am up to date. One regular TV show that I love to watch is "Curse of Oak Island". Its in its 8th season now. I like it because I am an Engineer and it has become an Engineering investigation, with lots of history mixed in. But also because its local and has many local people involved. Experts from St. Marys, Acadia, UNB are regularly on the show providing expertise, and Irving Equipment has played a big role. Its on Sunday at 11:00 PM on History, but I record it and watch it later in the week. They have uncovered things that are dating back to the 1300s which may cause history to be rewritten (Columbus wasn't the first one here). Not sure where you'd find old seasons but I am sure they can be found somewhere. My all time favourite is Peaky Blinders. Haven’t watched Peaky Blinders yet. Have you read The Poet by Connelly? Think he wrote that a while back, not a Bosch novel, but easily my favourite by him. Haven’t read any of the Lincoln Lawyer. The Bosch show is really well done. The wife and I watch the curse of oak island... frustrating but entertaining I have not read the Poet. Just looked it up and a crime reporter story never really interests me. But I'll keep an eye out for it as an option because I like the authour. I read 99% of my stuff on a Kindle or Google Play Books now, and I get a lot of it for free ... kindle unlimited is really good deal if you read a lot. My favourite book series is the John Sandford Prey Novels ... probably 30+ books now in the series and everyone of them has been very good. Essentially it is a story of murders in Minnesota (now expanded all over the US) and the main Character solves them. Lucas Davenport is the main character, and is portrayed as a former NCAA hockey player. There has been two off-shoots of characters from these stories into new series. I even have my wife hooked on them. I am also a big John Grisham fan, David Baldacci, Greg Isles, Steve Martini and a few other authours. I use to like James Patterson but got away from his stuff.

I'm with you about John Sandford's books. I really like his Virgil Flowers (that Fuckin' Flowers) character too. Dean Koontz is another of my favourite authors. Some of his books are real page-turners (Intensity is the best one for that). Another author to discover is F. Paul Wilson. "Repairman Jack" is an awesome character in quite a few of his books. He fixes his clients problems in very imaginative ways. Besides reading, Netflix has been a good pastime during this pandemic and some cross-country skiing when it's not -40. Especially without being able to see anyone from both our families since the summer and it took a family emergency for that to happen.

The crime reporter aspect really takes a backseat in the novel, not really what it’s about. Great book. I’ll have to check Sanford out, sounds like something I would like. Anybody read Nick Cutter? Books tend to be a bit twisted but are quite good.

I watched Yellowstone and loved it. can't remember if it is 3 seasons now or four seasons, but I am up to date. I just finished the 3 seasons of Yellowstone in about a week, and it was really only about 4-5 days of watching. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's like Sons of Anarchy on horses.

- my wife and I retired in November 2019 just ahead of Covid.
- lots of Netflix and Disney+
- I have a nephew who made the Halifax Hawks Peewee AAA team, I was really enjoying the live feed the team had for their games but alas.
- finally read the JK Rowling books that she has done as Robert Galbraith - these are private detective mystery novels that one of my daughters bought for me and these are very good but I must say it kind of funny because there is a lot of swearing in her writing with the c-word coming up approximately 4-5 times a novel. I've got a couple Stephen King novels on the deck, Mr. Mercedes and Finder's Keepers.
- we managed to get some renovations done last summer and fall.
- cooking- I love Thai food and my girl who lives in Bangkok started her own Instagram account just for her Thai cooking and I've tried to copy what she has done - making your own curry paste requires some labour and elbow grease but it is gratifying and saves some money.
- planning on what to do post-covid and vaccinated - I'm just glad that before we retired we accompanied my daughter who moved to Bangkok for work, got her moved in and then we travelled once again around SE Asia and on our way home saw Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, just beautiful cities. We saw Hong Kong on our way into Thailand on the last weekend before all the protests started against the CCP. I look forward to the Mooseheads starting back up but if there are still going to be restrictions in September at Scotiabank Center we might take another year off and wait for 2022. If we can we might just visit our girls who live abroad but that also depends on what my youngest does as she graduates from SMU in May and she is thinking about taking the gap year to go backpacking if possible.
One of the good things about this has been the money saved because you really reduce expenses when you aren't driving into downtown five days a week and eating out there for lunch and sometimes supper as well.
We're just looking forward to this being over with.

It can be really hard mentally when your "zone" goes red or orange and you can hardly do anything. Winter makes it worse though. I remember it being pretty brutal here on PEI at the first lockdown. Our restrictions weren't as severe, but not being able to visit my girlfriend was pretty bad. Thankfully technology has advanced enough that keeping in touch was easy and we played games online together.
