21 Players and 4 Staff now confirmed as Testing Positive with The Canucks for Covid 19 . Will they even play again this Year ? Elliott Friedman is reporting that 8 are Bed Ridden , they are not reporting that any are Hospitalized . They have confirmed that it is the Brazilian Variant that has ripped through the Team and that some Players thought they were on the Mend just to become sick again . They are a Minimum of Ten Days away from on ice activities .......what kind of shape will they even be in then ?

Vancouver and BC Provincial Health Authourities have confirmed through Contact Tracing that One Team Member became infected in a Community Setting and is responsible for spreading it throughout the Whole Team / 21 Players and 4 Staff ( 25 in Total )..........that in itself is one scary thought .

And that's not counting the relatives of the players and staff who have probably been infected also.

I think this angle is overplayed by media. Sure all players have been asked to stay home as much as possible. It was not an edict though. There will be times you need to go out. In the normal course of life. It's just as easy to have your spouse, partner, or kids bring it home. With the highly infectious variant it was only a matter of time until an outbreak. Also the whole system is a net with wide holes. If this player is being tested every few days it takes a perfect storm to get to a point that you infect that many teammates. The process if you get a positive test they then retest the original sample and if it's negative test again. This takes time. But anyone could have transmitted that infection to team members. Even staff, airline employees, and rink workers. Inadvertently because they all have lives. The lesson is shit happens and they knew it could. Protocols and mostly following rules 100% is impossible. And that's why the variant is winning. The only way the NHL can 100% avoid this is not play.
