Landeskog for 8 years at 7M
Colorado is at almost 70M for 16 players. Jost as an RFA. Most of what is left will likely go for a goalie then guys at or near 1M.

McCrimmon tried to talk his way out of it, saying the trade leaked on Twitter before the official trade call happened ... I don't buy it. This isn't a minor deal involving a depth player - this is the face of your franchise ... he knew you were talking to different teams, including Chicago. They owed him a courtesy call "We think we have a deal with Chicago, going on the trade call in 10 minutes - sit tight ... will call you back as soon as we get off and it is official."

"Insiders" know the ins and outs but the team themselves dont? Fleury doesnt care what your trade is but he does deserve to know you have an agreed upon deal to send him somewhere before the media does. Especially from the owner who said a few months ago to him and his wife that he wont be going anywhere. That conversation alone meant he was owed a few phone calls from Vegas higher ups beyond the generic "well wishes in Chicago". The absolute mess of how deals are reported now is getting worse every day. Fleury WAS traded for something but everyone says it was for nothing. Other deals actually have nothing going the other way. Why can the NHL not at least make these teams send 7th rounders instead of nothing? And why the reporting of nothing when there IS something even if its a Mikael Hakkarainen? Add in the awful look of the Vezina winner going as a Cap dump for a minor leaguer and its a bush league look for a major league like the NHL all around.

Today Zach Hyman joins that list Happy for him to get the monster deal. Hard working guy who gives everything he has. But content to let him go after the injuries and the long term he is getting. Will be a solid addition for 3-4 years then fall off a cliff I think.

Good complimentary player, the type of guy you try and sign for 4-4.5M and 5 years last summer, but as a UFA getting 5.5M and 7 years, it won't age well. The minute he isn't with impact players he is a 35-40 point mid lineup guy. I wonder what type of deal Coleman will get, somewhat similar player but was playing down the lineup in TB. I heard 5 x 5 years.

Hyman is a great complimentary player..... guess what? turns out where he's going they already have star players... i actually think this is a great signing and not ridiculous in the least

It's a Lucic type deal, but his style is similar to Neal who just got bought out. He is the type of player you need to develop to find them cheaper. I like this take...

sure ideally you manufacture players in house
oilers have tried..... hasn't worked very well
and of course it's too long a deal..... they almost always are
but it isn't comparable to the lunacy deals mentioned earlier
nor is it anything close to either James Neal (how is Hyman a Neal type player? really have you ever watched either guy play?) or Lucic
HYman is a huge loss for Toronto..... a great pickup for Edmonton and will be far from the top end of stupid deals signed today IMO

Solid 3rd liner who can play up but with the injuries Hyman has had and normal regression with age I think the term is the killer. Solid add player wise for Edmonton who can afford to overpay some of those middle of the lineup players to try and change the culture a bit. But if it doesnt work out its going to be exactly like some of those 2016 contracts as 7 years is a long term for him. He's not going to change his style so staying healthy through to the end of the season is a key for those first few years. Toronto rarely had a healthy Hyman come playoff time as the season wears him down playing the way he does. Edmonton has to find a way to get him to game 83 at close to 100% to really get the bang for their buck in the first few years of the deal. It is a big loss for Toronto. But also a silver lining in my opinion to not have the cap space to match it as the deal is too much for him at that age with the injury history in my opinion.

LV looks to have no plan, they trade for Dadonov who would be their 6th or 7th winger at 5M.
