Odds on favorites to win it all this year. No pressure. Really looking forward to taking in a couple games this year. Went to one last season and it was a great atmosphere. Covid might put a dent in ticket sales. Hopefully not enough to cause a problem with the franchise. They were a great entertainment option and should only improve as more people get exposed to the lacrosse game. TSN purchased rights to air NLL games in Canada this year. They've done a good job with the CFL, so hopefully they can grow the lacrosse game as well. Home opener is Dec 4th and they play the other odds on favorite, the Saskatchewan Rush. $25 lower bowl tickets available online for this one. thunderbirds.formstack.com/forms/valley_thunder_december_4th_fundraiser

I would not count out the wings or Bandits, I have my season tickets and ready to roll, I wanted to give up my moose tickets because I find it hard to watch now compared to the Thunderbirds. On top of that with a 8 month old some weekends go Friday Moose, Saturday Birds, Sunday Moose its just hard when you work full time and have the baby.
I have one of the cheaper seats but I'd love to upgrade to the next section, but the pricing makes it a bit hard. If you haven't seen a game it is great to take the kids to, you can go on the floor after the game and meet some players. Sometimes they have events after one time they had like a kids night and had blowup soft play things all over the place.
I guess if you don't know the rules well you can put on some ear puds and listen to them explain the rules during the play. The one hard thing to get used to is they play music all game long. It bothered me at first however it doesn't bother me at all now its just background noise.

I can only name a handful of players. I hope to follow them more closely this year. Last year they had quite a few ticket deals. Either partnership discount tickets with a minor lacrosse program like I linked in the opening post, or Groupon discounted tickets. I'm assuming they'll continue that trend this year to get butts in the seats and more exposure to the product.

Using the link I posted in the opening post, you can get a lower bowl end seat for $28.75 with tax. If you were to buy the same ticket for a Mooseheads game online, with fees it would cost $25.50. I think there will be lots of deals throughout the season to make it affordable.

Doesnt look all that far off from Q hockey. We're getting to a point where it's going to be $25-$30 minimum to do anything. Even watching average local artists can get you in the $10-$20 range. The issue with the costs of something like Q hockey to me is the 3 games in 4-5 days. In this case I think the Lacrosse team plays once per week which helps if its more expensive but offers a better entertainment return for the dollar.

To confirm; those are the deals mentioned above. On the website, prices are close to $100. Which is high compared to the Mooseheads, but typical for semi-pro; and low for pro teams. I bought season tickets in the second most expensive zone for a total of $632.50. With nine home games, that works out to be $70.28/game. Needles to say; I'll be pretty upset if they have $30 specials for every game (there's additional perks; but not $40/game worth of perks). The fact that there's only nine home games should make it manageable for casual fans to attend most games. I had Calgary Roughnecks season tickets for (I think) five years, and it was enjoyable the whole time (didn't get sick of it). I also had Moosehead season tickets way back in 2004/05 and that was awful. It became a chore to go to all the games (and that was a year they made it to the finals so they were good).

Yeah no way can they remain that cheap if you're paying $70 per game as a season ticket holder. But as a deal to get some people in I can see it making sense a couple of times per year. Its a tough time commitment to be a season ticket holder. I'd rather then smaller schedule for a bit more money as long as I was enjoying the experience. I'm with you that season tickets to the Q becomes a chore. I'd like to get to see a Thunderbirds game this season though. Especially if the team is decent and following them a bit on TV appears more realistic with their new TSN deal.

I was afraid of that when they had the Groupons in the first year. It is a bit of a slap to the face of the people that purchased season tickets to go ahead and give discounted tickets. It's a good idea to get casual fans in the rink, but a bad idea to piss off the folks that bought season tickets in the lower bowl from the very beginning. Getting the 1st playoff game for free is a great benefit for a season ticket holder. Probably an $80 dollar value with that price level. I'm sure additional playoff game packages will be cheaper than face value as with the Mooseheads.

Last night was one of the most entertaining sporting events I've ever been to live. Two best teams in the league went back and forth all game. Overtime was nuts. Thunderbirds won 12-11 on a great individual effort.
Attendance figures for NLL aren't readily available so far this year. Looked like it was hovering around 6000-ish. Decent for after the Covid break. Everyone I was sitting around was trying to figure out all the rules like we were. I think we'll steadily increase throughout the year.
Already trying to figure out how to go to more games. It's fantastic entertainment.

Agreed...was a great game. Decent sized crowd, but games like that should only increase interest.
