Sad news this morning of his passing. He was definitely before my time but a ton of fun to watch even if it's highlights on YouTube.

Probably the greatest pure goal scorer of all time. If his career hadn't been cut very short by injuries, he would likely have had the career goal record.
With Trottier, Potvin, Gillies and Smith they were the heart of that powerhouse Islanders team of the late 70's early 80's.

Sad news this morning of his passing. He was definitely before my time but a ton of fun to watch even if it's highlights on YouTube. I remember him in his Junior prime playing in the Q for Laval - scoring 70 and 80 goals per season. He was the first player who could routinely pick a spot and hit it. Guys like Richard, Bobby Hull, Esposito, Guy and Leach could score goals - but Mike Bossy brought the word snipe into the NHL. He was also a super clean player - and an advocate to clean up the game - but he never shied away from traffic. He was one of the most fouled players in league history through the clutch and grab era - and he still produced with I think it was 9 straight 50 plus goal seasons. It's always sad to lose the greats.
