It should be another good one for Quebec with a veteran lineup and maybe Roy's last year.
As of now:
Bolduc (19) - Rochette (20) - Roy (20) Malatesta (19) - Gaucher (19) - Ridzon (17) C.Savoie (19) - Huchette (19) - Cooper (19) Canning (18) - Gaudet (18) - M.-Laflamme (18)
N.Savoie (20) - Komarov (18) Nause (19) - Truchon (19) Wener (17) - Lachance (18)
Rousseau (19) Fernandez (17)
Roy mentionned adding a forward and a defenseman at the mid season trade period.

Is Rochette for sure returning? I know there was a Swiss team that was promoting his return to Switzerland.

Is Rochette for sure returning? I know there was a Swiss team that was promoting his return to Switzerland. He has signed that deal a year ago. I’m pretty sure he’ll be back in Quebec. His father wants him to play in Switzerland but Theo wants to be drafted/signed in the NHL. I don’t think leaving for Switzerland will help him achieve that goal.

Great news for the Remparts, their captain will be back for his last season.

Why are they waiting until Christmas to complete that trade? Can't they trade now?

Why are they waiting until Christmas to complete that trade? Can't they trade now? I think Val-d’Or wants to get as much points as possible to make the playoffs before trading their best players at Christmas. They don’t have their 2023 1st pick as you well know and getting at least 2 playoffs home game for a small market it’s important $$$.

They're holding onto a player and risking injury for months to shoot for a scenario where they ask their fans to pay money to watch them be completely embarrassed for 2 nights. If the player gets hurt and they lose the return they give up more future seat sales than they earn by shooting for 16th place. Sometimes this league makes absolutely no sense. The fact the trade is already done and announced in the media is why the Mickey Mouse label will never go away any time soon. A team gunning for 2 playoff games as their season goal makes me wonder why anyone in that market would attend anything but his final game there.

But yes, that's a risky move. That kind of deal gets done all the time in advance. The difference is that it's known publicly. I understood what Lalancette meant when he said the deal would have come out soon enough. Val-d'Or giving up its 2024 1st pick for Fernandez makes no sense at all so we would have known anyway there was more to come.

And everything the league tells us they're 100% against...at least when it comes to how the Maritime teams are supposed to do business...they seem to always have no issues with when its certain teams breaking those rules. It's a bad look on the league to me and even less reason to support it as a fan.
